Spoiler: Turn (click to show/hide)

I do believe you messed up on the coordinates for at least my city. I took over Alfie's city, which was at G7, not N4. Actually, I think you got mine and Jesse's locations mixed up. However that seems to be the only mistake, I'm White at G7 and Jesse is Pink at N4, and Jesse has the survey team, I'm without garrison currently.

Corrected in my turn here.

A message came to Neyvn that an envoy had arrived to discuss a treaty. Upon seeing the individual it became apparent that they were a dwarf, it seems that the rumours that all the freaks had joined RAM's expedition were not entirely unfounded. The figure offered a document and then waddled away. The document read thusly:
Most glorious leader of those who travel under the light-green banner, we of the blue lands wish to extend a treaty, so that we need not be in conflict at these most delicate of times.
So that we may better understand one another we offer a trade of knowledge, that you may learn our industrial methods and that we may know of you propulsion techniques.
We also wish to extend the offer of a treaty, that none of our forces should enter the shadows of the mountains that divide our cities. We hope that this would grant both our peoples a sense of security.

Respectfully, RAM

Offering to trade with Nevyn, industry 2 for engines 2.
Also offering a treaty so that none of our units enter the hexes at E19, F18, G19, H18, I19, J18, k19, or L18.

P.S.
Had connection issues, I had hoped to send this some hours ago...

Vote (1) for the Urist scale!
I shall be eternally happy. I shall be able to construct elf hunting giant mecha. Which can pour magma.
Urist has been forced to use a friend as fertilizer lately.

Somebody had me work out the price of an overcapped unit through PM. I made a mistake in my math, and based the "extra" cost for going over the limit on the cap instead of on the size of the over-sized unit. I liked the way the costs came out. I've always hated the way the cost of over-sized units made them nearly worthless.

As such, unless somebody points out that it's horrifically imbalanced, oversized units will now still increase in cost exponentially, but will now have the "base" the exponent is on stop increasing at the size cap OR at 4 points, whichever is higher. 1^5th is 1. No super-missiles to people who only have 1 size tech.

An example, because the above paragraph likely made no sense.

All technologies are at level 1.
Tank - 2/2/0/1 - 8 points used, out of the cap of 4.
The old cost would have been 8^2, or 64.
The new cost is 4^2, or 16.

I do my best math just before going to sleep, even if my explanations are slightly lacking.

That sounds reasonable. So you can exceed the size limit by 1 and still only pay one extra industry (as you would anyway), but once you exceed it by 2 you have to pay three extra industry for the extra point, and then five, etc.?

What do you mean by "overcapped"? It seems to me that you're talking about the size limit. But then what does "oversized" mean? That must refer to the tech limit, yes?

4^1.25 is 5.7. Decimals will usually round up, making it cost 6 IP for going 1 point over a size limit of 4.
Same thing, going over the size limit.

Can we have the specific formulas for calculating overtech and oversize costs?

Spoiler: Turn (click to show/hide)

We still need Jesse and Neyvn. I propose a time limit. The pace before was much better, about one day per turn...

The (+4) is added between turns. You cannot use it on the turn you get it.

A time limit is a good idea, although some people need to talk with each other while in different time zones. Five days per turn, maybe?

Can we have the specific formulas for calculating overtech and oversize costs?
I will calculate them out for anyone who PMs me, wanting them calculated.
