If you have the size tech to back it up, a flying coloniser is faster for the same cost...
Make a passenger aircraft and crash it into some mysterious island, have the survivors set up camp and try to figure the place out...

You would think so, but no, they're a special case so long as they're unmodified. It only increases their survival rate against missiles anyway.
And surely no player here would shoot their missiles at colonists.

What?

Great. Killing civilians is highly immoral.

I didn't know it was a colonist! I didn't know it was building a city! I DIDN'T KNOW BIGBY'S CRUSHING TACTICAL NUKEMISSILES COULD DO THAT!...

Uh huh...Sure you didn't know. It's not like it says right on the label, "Do not handle around colonists." Or that it comes from 'Bigby's Destruction Emporium'.

Hey, you see a big scary unit with 3 armour and 1 movement, it is probably going to move next to your city and lower property values or something, it might even be a missile carrier! You can't let dangerous things like that traipse all over your planet...

Warning to all players, in alpha centauri i always make specialised units, it realy works that way

You really can both sig it.
But... That would break the laws of sigging! We can't have everyone running around with the same quotes. IT MAKES THEM UNFUNNY FASTER!

Quote from: nurir torir
Warning: Anyone who refers to the Alpha Centauri star system as the Solar System will receive a free meteor. Probably more then one.

lol I just noticed this, and i understand reasoning namely our planetary system is called the solar system after Sol, the name of our star

So the system the game takes place in shoud be something like the centauran system, or the alpha centauran system

and nurir, the defence stat ie th second stat is used while defending while the first is used while atacking right?

I believe that the first stat is how much of the second stat is lost if an attack is successful. The second stat can be repaired. I do not believe that being the attacker or defender makes any difference to the stats...

Yeah. Except attacks are always successful and the defender and the attacker attack each other simultaneously. And the damage to the second stat is the first stat on the attacker minus the third stat on the defender, but is always at least one. Pretty simple.

Unless the unit has a percentage chance to avoid an attack...

Yes and yes.

I'll try to get a turn up today, mouse permitting, although it would be nice to get that last spot filled.
