Name of priest: Menzakhaliah

Priest action: Tell those who come to him that the only way to protect themselves from the nightmares is to mark their bodies with a demonic rune (but don't tell them it's demonic) that lets you leech off their souls

Demon action: Leave those that mark themselves alone, for now. Instead, give all the others horrid vivid nightmares of foul things happening to them, with their only sanctuaty being the priest.

As for the golems plan, I can't imagine everybody making golems - if the runes are based off our power, then as soon as more than a couple our made, we will be unable to sustain them. If they are not based off our power, then they do us no good.

Sacrificing someone in order to beind their soul into a golem is a different matter, though...

Name: Arevor "Holy Father" in the language of the people. He goes by no other name.

Action: Start a cult around a new god who has made himself known to you: Kyrgyrtzan. Claim he is god of protection, if there is not a god of such already.

What I had in mind was basically that they weren't powered by us physically, that'd be a problem for the builders to solve pr from ambient magic, but their MINDS come from us.

And when they feel protected, then we strike. Nothing like lulling people into a false sense of safety and then destroying their hopes.

How about we say that the god was killed and the only way to survive is to side with the demons.

Even if their minds are extensions of us, our willpower is limited, and we would only be able to sustain a few by splitting our mind. By sacrificing others to bring the golems to life, we can make them into slaves of ours.

Patience is key. Trying to jump straight into golemcrafting the moment we have one follower isn't likely to work or end well.

Priest Name: Esor

We continue to corrupt. Better to own than to destroy.

They start a cult in our name. Those who cannot be corrupted personally shall be drawn into the fold by the words of others.

Siding with the cult formation and rune-carving ploy, but name as Avervor Esor (go concession voting! =D)

In my mind,

Trasin Vor=Father city
Avervor=Holy Father

get the drift?

I have absolutely no idea what's going on in this fort any more. Migrants arrive, they die for some reason, the fort is flooded for another reason, then dwarves go mad, more dwarves die and I'm just laughing in my distress.

Neither of those. Again, I say you should "gift" some good engineer with knowledge of magic runes to make golems, and soon everyone will be making servant golems, not knowing each of them are essentially material extensions of our body.
Make a cult.

Do not fear the dreams, child. The dreams show the path to salvation- pain first, then enlightenment in the face of Him.
A god? No, He is no god. He is mightier than a god. He is Kyrgyrtzan the unknowable; he is here to help you, in exchange for a small price- a little blood here, a little blood there. I assure you, the rewards are immeasurable. Come now, I will teach you.

Arevor converts a few villagers, and forms a cult that meets at midnight in his temple.
Now that you have a cult, you must define it;
Name: ('The Cult of Kyrgyrtzan' or something else)
Level of Organisation: (None: You are the absolute ruler of the cult. No one has any authority but you. Highest: A complex hierarchy. It runs itself, and there are so many intermediaries between you and the bottom that the lowest orders are not even your followers, but hired employees; janitors, mercenaries, ect)
Looks: (What do the cultists wear? What do the temples look like? What sort of symbols do they use?)
Idle Actions: (What do they do when there is nothing else to do; kidnap people, paint grafiti, dance naked in the woods, ect)

Meanwhile, you search the minds of the village for an engineer. You find a scholar at the university who, whilst no master mechanist, can serve your purpose. You fill his dreams with runic scripts, designed to summon your mind into a machine. For days he stays locked in his room working with scraps of wood and metal, scrawling runes on parchment. Eventually, success! A small doll is made, that walks by itself. The creation taxes your mind, but not unduly. The man does not know the true nature of his creation, but he does realise that it is not his own idea.

Your stomach rumbles. You could hunt wildlife to satiate your hunger, but it would be a pretty miserable fare for one such as you.

Required: Cult definition, cult action, your action.

Name: Kyrgyrtzan
Physical might: 9 manpowers (-1:hunger)
Mental might: 2 mageminds (your mental strength is double that of a trained mortal) (-.2:Golems)
Followers: 4
Slaves: 0
Servants: 1 (undercover doll)

Cult:

Have the cult choose someone from the village for you to 'punish' and go eat him/her.

EDIT: Also, your symbol is a red eye, cut in two.

Name: The Unseeing

Level of organization:
Kyrgytzan of the Holy Darkness (us) (Yes, with a title)
     The Blinded One (Human leader)
The Archons (10 most skilled arcani)
The Arcani (Those skilled in magiks) (Yes, with a "k")
     The Militant (Soldier group)
The Fervent (all other cult members)

Appearance:
     Uniforms:
The Fervent: Red hooded robes, marked with the symbol in black on the back
The Militant: Armor, emblazoned with the symbol in red on the back. Black hoods.
The Arcani: Black hooded robes, with the symbol in red.
The Archons: Same as the Arcani, but with the symbol tattooed on their foreheads.
The Blinded one: Eyes stitched shut over empty sockets. Dark clothing, with the Symbol of the Holy Darkness tattooed on his chest in glowing runes.
     Symbol:
An eye, with a dagger plunged through it. (Heavily stylized to look runic, of course)
Temples: Something like the Pantheon in Rome, but with the occulus replaced by a deep hole in the ground, leading to the depths of hell itself. Also, made from black steel rather than white marble.

Idle Actions:
Learn Magic/warfare/fanaticism. Spread cult. Toil for our glory. Catalog (but do not interact with!) potential sacrifices.

OF course, the Militant shall have to wait awhile to be formed, as we have scholars and intellectuals, not soldiers. And the more... horrifying... portions of converting Arevor to the Blinded One should wait as well.
