There's nothing quite so satisfying as 'x'

Things that make you smile in DF.
Just had one.

There's nothing quite so satisfying as setting up successful irrigation in a new fort and and it working first time.

There's nothing quite so satisfying as starting a megaproject, honestly.

There's nothing quite so satisfying as a well-architected and perfectly planned tantrum spiral being ten times better than you wanted it.

The thread is over. You can go home now.

I have yet to find anything so satisfying as my last embark site; ~30x70x4z of solid, flat-topped rock jutting out into the middle of a lake. Potential is fun.

I disagree, when you I finish a megaproject, my fort is boring o.o

Starting is the exciting part.

The first lesson taught by DF is patience.
The second: Madness.
The third: Magma, properly applied, solves all problems.

Umm, designing a beautiful magmafall with magma moat. After then, realising that there is one small mistake that will flood your entire fortress with magma. Then you realise that it's too late to stop it. Good times.

Welcome to Murdermachines. Try the gecko sauce; it's delectable and delightful, a wonderful blend of savory and spicy that makes any dish delicious without being too overwhelming.

(Warning: Do not ask about the manufacturing process for gecko sauce)

There's nothing quite so satisfying as getting your first titan attack - ever - and after realizing it's one of the unkillables (steam blob with poison frozen spittle), pinning it into place with war animals and building your first Dwarven Super Weapon (in this case, Orbital Bombardment Platform) - ever - and successfully using it to kill said beast.

There's nothing quite so satisfying as building a roof over the entire map and then using a single lever to kill everything outside at once.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.
Unfortunately dying involves the amputation of the entire body from the dwarf.

There's nothing quite as satisfying as starting an obsidian factory without mining out a single space.
