Depends where you live.

For instance, I'm not sure I'm geographically GMT+2, but it's national time. So the sun will still be high at seven, and only set around eight, and it'll be twilight until nine or later.

And in winter the sun will only rise at eight o'clock in the mornings.

So? I could get 12 hours of sleep, at least, and wake up at 7 in the morning, and still wake up earlier and get more sleep than I usually would. Way better than going to sleep at 12 or 1 or 2 or 3 in the morning and waking up at 8 or 9 or 10.

Depending on where you are in the world, 7PM can be dark out.

For instance, where I am (About 48degrees north) it gets dark about 8PM in winter.

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines night as ": the time of darkness between one day and the next : the part of the day when no light from the sun can be seen and most people and animals sleep", so therefore you automatically assuming Spehss was wrong in this situation FURTHER assumes that he currently resides at a relatively similar latitude to you.

I went to be at 7.30 yesterday evening. Then woke up at 00.43, roasting hot and incredibly thirsty. Then got up and read a book for an hour, went back to bed and woke up at 8 again.

I was up for 31 hours before that though.

Sleeping issues suck. Nearly decided to just stay in bed at 8, which would've ruined the entire purpose of actually having stayed up for 31 hours in the first place.
