Weapon balance is purely game mechanic thing, in reality some weapons just are insanely good at what they do. Hammers and mauls break bones and tear muscles, axes severe limbs etc. There's a reason why armor is a thing.
How to transfer that into a game and make it usefull to use more than one or two weapons all the time...

Good luck at that, I'm not jelly at all.

Blunt weapons don't usually break through armor anyway, IIRC. They just transfer the kinetic energy through the armor to hurt you.
Well, it depends on the weapon and the armor. I can tear a fist sized hole in sheet steel (not the same as armor, but no one would let me ruin a set of armor for science) with a bec-de-corbin. A club wouldn't be made to do that, but a mace or warhammer probably would.

CNN's site redesign makes me want to kill myself. Now it's a giant jumble of shit and huge images like your Facebook feed. # of headlines you could see a glance without scrolling before? Over 20. Now? 6 to 8. And it's not even clear what these stories are about or under or related to. It's just what they want you to pay attention to, for reasons that are their own.

It's got everything. It's got a news ticker. It's got scrolling headline images and text. It's got embeded videos. It's got the horrendous "cram a box in every conceivable space it can fit" aesthetic. It's like if the Windows 8 UI and Facebook screwed furiously with news website designer and the Steam Holiday sale stuck in the middle, and then had a baby.

... so it's like every other modern news site in the existence? I've yet to see one of those that didn't look like someone decapitated a web designer, shat down their neck, buried the corpse in a dung pile, waited for toad to lay an egg in the mess, and then put whatever came out the egg through a blender and willfully de-optimized the results.

Damned things usually crash the goddamn browser if javascript and plug-ins aren't disabled. Half of them crash 'em anyway, the diseased shitspawns. *mumbles something about litany of journalistic hate*

As a graphic designer, I'll have to agree with these sentiments (checked it out out of curiosity). A reason I kinda keep away from doing web design work. My lacking skill in that particular field aside, I don't want to design a site like this; but my clients do, despite my advice against it (aethetics > function may be what I'm hired for, but I still hate the idea. I usually design with function in mind).

Trust me when I say, you think that as a consumer, this is painful. Be the guy that must make it, and have to deal with the commentary about it (client and consumers, especially; including some of your own "Why am I doing this?"). The paycheck is the only real buffer/solace. At least we got paid for (reluctantly, in some cases) doing this crap.

EDIT:
Maybe not the most professional statement, but I felt it must be said. Most horrid designs aren't our fault/idea. We're just doing our job.

Sadly in DF if you don't break through inflexible armor outright, it doesn't really damage the parts behind it.

Flexible armor does allow for a significant portion of the strike force to do that, though.

My friend is a graphic designer for our company, I know the litany. It's just....damnit! I had a nice little text list of probably 30 stories there on the left side of the page, and I could mentally block out most everything else. Now, I have to scroll and filter even more to find out what's news. The flow of the page makes it confusing where shit really falls in the hierarchy now too.

*sigh* The only consolation I had is that I smelled this shit coming years ago and didn't pursue a career in it.

Hey, random professor dude man. Class starts in 10 days, and I'd really like to buy my textbooks online so that I can save a couple hundred dollars per book. Now, you seem to be the only one of my 6 professors who hasn't posted their book list online yet. I just see a big red "!" and a "Selection Pending" notice. Do you think that you could do something about that? Please? I'd rather not go two weeks through class without the book but you aren't leaving me many options here.

Dragged off to do clothes shopping with my mom. Apparently my "Christmas present". I didn't really need to go.

I also seemed to have caught whatever it is my stepdad has. Nowhere near how bad he has it, but that my parents are already suggesting Alka-Seltzer as a preventative to it getting worse(actually, I'm already getting better). Next I assume they're going to start spouting miasma theory to me.

I let my brother use my laptop and now the fucker isn't booting up past a black screen.

This, plus other incidents I've had, are why my computer is never touched by anyone else. I'd have it surrounded by an electified fence if I could.

Hah. Where I work, the bookstore hates it when the professors wait until the last minute to post the book list.

When something you've ordered makes it to your local distribution hub really ruickly and then sits there for days.

I am so done with my parents deciding to run off to Virginia to visit my sister and dumping house sitting on my boyfriend and I. Yes, we need the money, but telling us yesterday that our time from the 12th to the 24th is now occupied and we have to move our animals into their house to take care of their animals and plants is bullshit. My mom knew full well my dad wouldn't tell us about it, he's not that considerate, she's just passing the buck.

Next time they can find another house sitter. This is the last time. I know I said that last time but I completely mean it this time.

I delved into the comments section on a YouTube video.
Why did I do that?
Now I want to stab some random guy I've never even met.

Comments sections in general. The ones on news sites are the worst by far, in my experience.
