Had many problems setting up the new console
Probably spent 4~6 hours on set up of account, installs, and assorted other junk
Was pretty agrivated today......
#PS24life

On an unrelated note, my almost-5-year old brother was being kinda stupid, shall we say.

god if I had had to put up with a sibling that young in my teen years...

I might be in jail, is I guess, the least offensive way I can say that.

Kids are monsters.

Is not PS4, Cry. Is PS24. As in, the twenty-fourth.

Blitz's a time traveler.

(no but srsly it's "ps2 for life" not "ps4 life")

No, it's PS2, not PS4. Damn ninjas...
Also, my little brother can be quite adorable. It's just that, far too often, he tries to solve his problems with copious amounts of screaming and crying.

It does not help that he can't speak very well yet.

Hearing babies and children scream and cry evokes in me this visceral, violent rage that I can not properly express in words without the FBI visiting my house.

No I would never act on anything like that but that sound is like an instant anxiety attack and rage inducer all in one.

Then its working exactly as it should.

Rage today; moose came back and took out the fence again. Wire dislodged along a 50 yard stretch, pulled back out into the field where the moose apparently managed to shake it off. Moose not obviously injured; no blood, kept running just fine. All the insulators along the fence have been ripped off, several of the wooden poles we'd buried into the ground as posts have been ripped up.

I can't see any way to fix this until spring. It started snowing this morning, the ground was already frozen, and we have no machinery to help right the posts. That fuckers going to come back and do it again, I just know it...

Hehe console plebs, foolishly buying Disappointment Sim 2014 Destiny.

Not to say the PC master race is free of first-world problems; for the first time, I have grown a substantial backlog on Steam and will probably never finish all the games. Hell, it would take several hours just to download them all.

I feel ya. I have tons of games waiting to play. Most of them are downloaded though. I just... there were all these games I wanted, and... I need to find time to play them, wtf am I doing on this forum?

But we should make sure to always clarify that yes, PC Race is Master Race, always and forever.

"The more deeply people play Smash Bros., the more they start seeking higher levels of precision in the gameplay. At the end, this leads them to prefer the Final Destination stage with no obstacles, no items, certain stock settings, etc."

goddammit do people get all of their ideas of how competitive smash works from youtube comments

Hey, I prefer the final destination stage because it lets me fight 1v3 against max level opponents without getting screwed over by geometry. Then again, this is Brawl I'm talking about. I've preferred no items since Melee anyway (where my favorite stage was Hyrule Temple because the stage and the music were freaking awesome! I also haaated FD back then.)

"No items, Fox only, Final Destination"

While the Final Destination part is an exaggeration, competitive Smash is pretty damn dry compared with the normal game because they seek to eliminate every bit of "unfair" randomness from it. That means no items without exception and certain stages often banned because of the potential "environmental KOs" with minimal player interaction. There are people who consider Melee superior to Brawl for competitions solely on the basis of the 1-in-100ish random "tripping" when you sprint in the latter.

Sakurai is an attentive motherfucker.

Most stages are banned.

Battlefield is the most popular stage in Melee, Smashville in later games.

Items are complete and utter bullshit and anyone who's ever played and wanted to win knows it. Nobody likes charging a forward smash only to have a bob-omb land on top of you, or an invincibility star spawning right on top of your enemy.

Sakurai is inattentive as shit if he actually thinks anyone likes Final Destination. That stage is one of the least balanced stages in every game it's been. Marth, Fox and Falco have gigantic advantages over the rest of the cast on it in Melee, Ice Climbers dominates there in Brawl and Little Mac/Diddy Kong both get pretty big advantages there in 4. Smashville is way better.

Nobody considers Brawl inferior just for tripping. Tripping was stupid as hell, but that's not why it was inferior. It was inferior because it rewards defensive play far more. It wasw inferior because you could get out of any combo by mashing the airdodge button, since airdodging canceled hitstun after about a quarter of a second. It was inferior because Meta Knight was far and away the best character in the game and, due to earlier-mentioned problems, the only fun character in the game if you're playing against people who are actually good.

You have to completely and utterly ignore the entire competitive scene if you think no items, fox only, final destination is even remotely close to the truth. Here's a match from one of the biggest tournaments of 2013. It's Young Link vs. Ness at first, then Young Link vs. Jigglypuff later. Jigglypuff is considered to be one of the best characters in the game and Ness one of the worst, but both are played here. And Fox, Falco, Marth, Sheik, Peach and Captain Falcon (the stereotypical top tier characters) are nowhere to be seen, nor is Final Destination. This is not entirely unusual, except for Ness being played.

I've seen that and I hope so, so much it turns out well, but I don't have very high expectations.

Fox was only overpowered in Melee (my favorite character, though this was before I actually knew he was considered overpowered/T1 by the competitive scene.
Tripping was a pain in the ass though.
The main thing I hated about items were the PokeBalls and assist trophies. If you got lucky and had one spawn right next to you it could win you the entire game by itself.
