is there something going on there that is environmentally unfriendly or were they just using that because people peer out plane windows at it?

Anyway, publicity stunts help no one. PETA does that kind of crap too, and if anything it hurts the cause.

Of course, PETA also slaughters pets en masse whenever they get the chance.

They entered a heritage site that is thousands of years old, without permission and left foot prints on one of the unblemished Nazca Lines. The sign was made out of cloth, so that at least is environmentally friendly.

But this is basically an example of a western organization literally trampling the rights of a sovereign nation and their heritage to pursue their stupid agenda. I hope everyone involved gets the full sentence.

A bit funny, since there are apparently concerns about pollution damaging the lines, and then Greenpeace comes along and leaves foot prints and tire marks around one of them instead.

... Technically those lines are a defacement to nature. Just saying. Nothing very environmentally friendly about carving a permanent fuckhuge trench into the ground in the shape of your chosen god. Easy to argue the sites like those are environmental pollution by the ancients. Of course I'm just directing this at the 'they're defacing nature' 'polluting a heritage site' argument, I have no horse in this because GreenPeace is attention grubbing fools who never actually do anything.

See: Sea Shepherd. [The entire thing was created because Greenpeace is incompetent, and they actually.. inhibit.. the people they're opposing, instead of just whining and pissing people off who agree with them]

/Dons my across-ages environmentalism hat

/No, seriously, I'd be saying this exact same thing if we were talking about Mount Rushmore 1,000 years from now

I should note that the link is The Guardian, which should b taken with a grain of salt. Or am I thinking of Daily Mail here?

Reminds me of the time some teenagers went into a cave to clean graffiti and managed to destroy some ancient caveman art in the process

The Guardian is fine. The Observer is the annoying kind of liberal but also fine. The Daily Mail is awful in every way.

technically both, because most media outlets are a joke. But you are probably thinking of Daily Mail, since they make up a good portion of their stories, those they aren't plagiarizing from others, at any rate.

Agggh, I have been looking for a way to ray cast in Stencyl for a day now. There's an API with no instructions, and the creator hasn't gotten back to me when I asked him about it, and all other sources lead to dead-ends.
Worst of all, the one thread where I thought I was onto something had the creator talk about how he couldn't get the API working. Then he said "Nevermind, I fixed it!".
No elaboration.
Agggh.

Ummm. I might be reading this wrong, but are you saying Sea Shepherd never actually do anything?
I don't know all that much about Greenpeace's activities (although I sure as fuck don't care about some ancient site in Lima over the environment as a whole), but Sea Shepherd are at least an organization that does things in an attempt to achieve their goals, even if they tend to pussyfoot around and not accomplish a great deal.

I -think- he was saying "look at the Sea Shepherd as an example of people that get things done" not that they don't do anything. that wouldn't make sense.

The problem with being a Nintendo fan to my extent? I keep reading the title wrong and thinking the discussion has turned to hate on Mario final bosses.

I mean, yeah, they definitely have gotten different recently. I think Kitty Bowser was kind of... tough to get right. I'm not sure 'harder' is the right word, but definitely more rage-quit worthy.

Sea Shepherd might be asanine and full of itself, but atleast they're doing a bit more than whining incoherently like Greenpeace. I mean, even Sea Shepherd knows Greenpeace accomplishes nothing.

That show on Discovery seriously made it look like a clown show, though. Which may have been why they made it.
