but is vaguely embarrassing when done in public?
Are you saying you get embarrassed having orgasms in public?
Doesn't everybody? O-o
Well it's definitely an accomplishment. Not easy, anyway.

One of my friends tried to convince me that "it's more likely for there to be life on a planet that can't support life than for there to be life on a planet that can support life, because there are more planets that can't support life than can." He refused to see anything wrong with this statement. Unfortunately, I couldn't yell at him as much as I wanted to because we were on a public bus.

Also, he tried to tell me that the name "Johnson" is not similar to the name "Jensen", but that wasn't too rage inducing. Or maybe it would have been, if it hadn't been eclipsed by the burning fury of trying to explain why it is unlikely for there to be life on a planet that can't support life.

Define 'life bearing'. I mean, do you include microbes? Also, life has fun evolving in ways we dont expect. I wouldent be surprised if there was life on some jovian moon, for instance.

By definition, any celestial body with life can support life, so the chance of a celestial body that cannot support life having life is 0.

Unless there's life and the celestial body just isn't very supportive.

Yeah, some celestial bodies are pretty neglectful. They smoked lots of volcanoes during the early periods of evolution, crashed into an asteroid while the race was still in its infancy, didn't support easily cultivated crops, and had basically no useful minerals to support the first steps of the species in their care into industry. Some were even so bereft of resources that their children couldn't successfully transition into interplanetary civilization.

I feel like you're referring to a certain planet in particular with all this. Maybe some blue planet somewhere around here.

If you are, you are incorrect. The planet gave its children enough resourses to go to other world, but they spent most of it on on wars and the egos of idiots worthless tings.

Yeah, not Earth. We're the upper-middle-class species that was all set for an easy few million years of life, but then we started shooting up with waroin instead of studying for our medical advancements, and we blew all of our savings on internal combustion engines instead of bootstrapping to sustainable measures.

Given the fact that we don't actually have any other races to base our class system upon, we are pretty much the ruling caste of the Universe.

Unfortunately, we just don't get out much.

Muthathuggin' college students having fun and laughing loudly with friends in the hall outside my dorm room. I'll show them to, I'm gonna crank up some Mushuggah and drown them out. And only I'll be able to hear it because my laptop's speakers are poor.

I'm fun at parties.

No I'm not jealous of them or whatever. That'd be stupid.

I don't get the "humans are evilest hurp durp" thing when we're the only entities in the observable universe that can commit evil.

I mean, I understand avoiding humans because they're dangerous, but comparing humans to other species in term of morality is like comparing an orange to an Apple device.

(Also dolphins are jerks)
