I think it might be easiest to just reinstall the OS. And if you do find a better solution, make sure to document it.

Forum threads whose last posts are "Nevermind, I figured out how to fix it." and "Issue solved. Closed" are somewhere in my top ten of worst things ever.

I suspect that's what "wicked smahrt" guy will do anyways. Unfortunately, it basically means half a day of my work was pissed away, the one day I had to do work before I have to train these people. (On the software that will rely on the backend that will end up getting reinstalled.)

And that xkcd comic is basically my life.

Any other time, I would be really happy and excited about a new Awesomenauts patch.
Not this time.

The patch itself is terrible because of some of its really questionable balance changes that have a negligible impact (most of them are <5% damage buffs/nerfs to things that didn't even need them to begin with), the game is more snowball-friendly (you get more money for killing and lose more money for dying; the base respawn timer is longer as well) and the modding tool I was using which was the only way for me to have fun with the game is now broken due to a new Steam DRM.

Not to mention my crappy Internet connection didn't even let me play a single online game (I disconnected right at the start of the match...).

Rest in peace, Awesomenauts.
01/08/2012 - 23/10/14.

Now I need a new game to play.
Good thing The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is coming out in 2 weeks.

Just read Felicia Day's essay on Gamergate. I havent had the time to pay attention to this thing. I thought it was just an isolated scandal that turned into fuel for a bit of sexism debate. But now its turned into a whole "movement" against women in gaming? Wtf is this? I guess I should actually do some reading on this horrendously fucked up shit.

Yeah, that's a good summary of the GG proponent's arguements.

A 'debate' featuring two steadfast groups operating under both broken counter-factual dogma led by short sighted demagogues result in a horrible farce that would make Socrates spin in his grave so much and so fast that he could power all of Greece.

And that's all I have to say about that

Aaaaaargh. Damn unreliable people backing out of gigs at the last minute. Anyone else I'd want to go with is revising for the exams we have the day after -_-
