I... don't think that's actually true. Plenty of ways to kill people after you're dead. Poisons, explosives, various traps, etc., etc., etc. There's almost certainly a handful of murderers who managed a posthumous kill count.

Suicide bombers are almost certainly dead before any of their victims, even if the time difference is only a fraction of a second.

Hang on. That depends on what we actually mean by, "kill". Are we talking, "Taking actions that lead to the death of a person", or is the death itself actually part of the verb? This is an important distinction - under the first definition, you can't kill posthumously because all the actions you took that caused the death were taken before you died, even if they were somewhat delayed in their effects.

It's a strange question. I think we should use the more lenient definition of "took actions that led to the death of a person". Which leads to problems with quantum physics and the butterfly effect wherein we are all responsible for every death that occurs.

Well you could probably implement "Knowingly" and "Successfully" as conditions.

But it's also possible to unknowingly kill someone, such as in cases of drunk driving.

So my car died tonight. I was a half of a block away from my house, only had to do two more turns, when the whole thing died (we think it's the battery charger). Getting it towed tomorrow, but this was definitely not something that was in my weekday plans.

Maybe if you're an auto shop kind of guy. It took my dad and I a few hours to get a new alternator installed in my car, and it failed a couple months later. Of course, we rarely do anything more complex than change out a lightbulb...

Luckily turns out there is an autoshop just a few more blocks down, well within the 5 mile AAA free towing radius.

Still, means another task on my gratuitous list of things I need to get done tomorrow.

Can you afford the shop's prices though? They'll charge for both the part and the labor, and they'll REALLY screw you over on the latter. If you don't mind getting your hands dirty you can save a few hundred bucks easy by doing the job yourself.

IIRC you get screwed on parts as well.

Yeah, but the parts tend to be a bit harder for the average Joe to acquire. Worst case, it requires eBay and a week or two for shipping a used part that might not even work.
