I hate that, especially with long run PC games like simcity.

"Alright! This city is beautiful!"
"Program had to unexpectedly close"
Reload and found that I lost 4 hours of work

That is what I hated abotu the first Mass Effect, along with the confusing maps.   Forget to make manual saves?  Have fun going back to the begining of the level, and going back and talking to EVERYONE.

Hmmmm, I remember a situation like that, though I can't remember where, not that it mattered, I was already restarting constantly because I kept forgetting to dump every point I could get into the 'charm' stat.
YOU CAN DO SO MUCH WITH THAT STAT.

I got lost in the first non-combat areas in both ME1 and ME2.

I still have to progress any further than that.

I remember being specifically annoyed with Noveria and Ferros.  I kept getting lost, there was large amoutns of tedius talking, and then sudden bouts of combat that left me dead.  Not as annoying when you know it is coming and can make a save, but when it is your first time...

There is in fact a map function that gives you the ability to put down markers that show up on the main screen.
I learnt this about 20 hours into the game, at my... third non combat area i constantly got lost in.
To be perfectly honest, I only finished the games out of some misplaced honor because my older brother got the game for me.

That's what happens when you don't swiftly develop the survival response of saving after literally every event as minor as opening a door or picking up a piece of trash loot, as well as every five minutes on general principle. Also your fault if something happens and you don't have at least two recent and one start-of-session backup saves. ^-^

Got to the fight with Metal Gear Rex near the end of Metal Gear Solid. Tried a few times, failed, it was late so I just shut it off and went to bed. Then, in bed, I realized, I hadn't saved since before the PAL Key sequence at least. Autosaves have spoiled me. I may just move on to the second game, not sure I have the fortitude to slog through that again... so angry at myself right now.
At least you have the ability to save. When I first played MGS I had no working PS1 memory cards, and the generations had passed on so it took time to get one. I ended up getting the bad ending because my weak prepubescent hands couldn't handle the torture sequence, and that was after several playthroughs getting skilled enough to finish the whole game in a single weekend.

Oh, hey there Fallout new vegas.
First game I ever got my quicksave addiction.
On that note, am i missing something with Half life 1 and 2? I just can't bring myself to like them, perhaps it's the fact i'm spoiled but that helicopter section  just requires memorization and even that much hailed mad priest section is dull and confusing.

Ouch, that's rough. I used to just keep the NES on and hope my mum didn't notice and turn it off, for games that didn't have saves. The worst for classic PS games were the ones that didn't let you manage your memory card, and you'd get a few hours in, only to realize you had no space and couldn't clear any.

I heard through the grapevines that said guy doesn't even consider me the most physically attractive.

Good thing I didn't say yes to that prick.
He's not even that much to look at himself, what a douchebag.

Very mature. A mature person can accept their flaws, also someone doesn't have to consider you the most attractive to like you. Also, through the grapevines = bad source.

The auto save is all fine and dandy until it saves while you're falling to your death.

So you get to die over and over and over and over and over and over....

Someone doesn't have to think you're the best to like you at all. Expecting to be the best is pretty ambitious, I think you'd find it for the best all round to see that good is still good, even if not perfect.

Had to cancel my wisdom tooth surgery. Even with insurance, it would still cost $400, which is something I can't afford. The dentist, of course, neglected to tell me this until four days before I was set to have the teeth out.

I was so close to finally getting rid of the pain, and then this shit. Looks like I'm stuck with it a while longer. Stupid pain.
