Got to the fight with Metal Gear Rex near the end of Metal Gear Solid. Tried a few times, failed, it was late so I just shut it off and went to bed. Then, in bed, I realized, I hadn't saved since before the PAL Key sequence at least. Autosaves have spoiled me. I may just move on to the second game, not sure I have the fortitude to slog through that again... so angry at myself right now.

I share your pain. I picked up Arcanum again not too long ago. It also has no autosaves. I've done the Bessie Toone mine like, 12 times now.
