Feel free to pm me if you want to talk about why the "good book" isn't so good. Hopefully, we can keep the flamewars under control. For those that have one handy, or feel like looking it up online, just look up Exodus 21:20-21 and Deuteronomy. Essentially the whole book is full of laws concerning behavior, mist of which are either heinous or bizarre, but 21:10-14 is a prime example of a horrendous war crime being laid down as law. That's where my side of the debate begins.

"Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them."

MZ: I think I've discussed the heinous/bizarre laws of the Old Testament with you at some point? Maybe it was someone else. I can't remember.

Edit: Derp, Blitz was talking about the other verses.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

C'mon vec, there's gotta' be a couple that aren't so bad, right? Right? One or two?

... yeah, maybe not. Generally if you're an actually decent human being you're not going to maintain a rich status and/or lifestyle because you'll kinda' be using the money to actually do nice things for people, instead of doing rich-y stuff. Though I'm sure there's at least one or two rich folks out there that live like normal people and actually steadily invest in good, or at least nominally beneficial, works. Somewhere. Maybe there's several and they just never make the news, I'unno.

I found out recently that many of them intentionally raise their children to spit on people of lower classes. I'm angry about it. I shouldn't have to put up with a 9-year-old acting like anything nice I do for her is a natural function of my being poor.

...Ok, that kind of 'rich' people? Yeah. That gets me mad <_<
Disrespectful, would be the kindest word I'd say about that attitude of theirs :S Condescending jerks basing their importance on money... :-\
Food for thought though, ask them why they're acting like that.

However don't let that color your perception of...many other people with similar physical characteristics or statuses to them. Its the attitude that the hate should be focused on.

The anger of someone who's being oppressed by a dominant social class shouldn't be mistaken for bigotry. Listen to me! It's more important for you to chide me than to listen to how I'm being mistreated? By people who have hired me?
