Actually, a lot of stuff in it is procedurally generated/ affected by you, the player. Not really handcrafted, other than the handcrafted random generators.

I've got a co-worker who is like 23 or 24. He's not graduated college yet. And he comes in pretty much whenever the fuck he wants to. He's a developer, responsible for his own corner piece of our software, and the shit he does never. Fucking. Works. He believes he fixes shit all the time when in fact, it's not fixed. To make matters worse, he's often sleeping til 1 or 2pm. Doesn't bother to send an email saying he's going to be late. Doesn't bother to come in half the time. Today his corner of the software was royally fucking broke AFTER his last suggested fix. And I had to call his ass and I'm greeted with "Durrrr, who is this?"
