... too far? A spoiler, perhaps?

E: And yeah, condolences and whatnot to Cmega. Know good ol' childhood trauma decently well. Phobic of boats because of m'own male parent, among other things. Fortunately madre was smart enough to break it off early in my life, but... eh. It gets easier as you get older, usually. So long as you can get away and keep them away.

Cmega I'm going to kidnap you, okay?
Not if I kidnap her first.
No one deserves shitty childhoods and I'm so sorry you're feeling this way and is there anything we can do to take your mind off things? :c

Man, you guys have parents that are ten times worse than mine.

I mean, my parents both annoyingly try to restrict me from doing the things I like to do and enjoy going waaaay overkill with punishments and what I should get punished for, but some of you guys' parents are just... monstrous.

Being told to go to sleep and whatnot I always found the be stupid.
What happens if you say: "make me?"
It's not like they have immediate access to chloroform or something

It just takes a nice thick pillow and a little bit of elbow grease.

They basically threaten you with punishment until you go up to your room and stay there.

I mean, you're not guaranteed to go to sleep, but children at the age where that generally happens end up falling asleep at some point during the night.

It's gotten ridiculous lately, though. For example: my parents always used "go to bed" and "go to sleep" interchangeably. One time, it was really hot in my room and I couldn't get to sleep, so I came downstairs and slept on the couch.

My dad finds me the next morning and writes me off as "untrustable" because I didn't follow his specific wording from the previous night (go to bed), even though "go to bed" and "go to sleep" have been synonyms in my head my entire life.

I'm still kinda pissed at him over that. Lately it's felt like they've just decided that their first-born son is a handy emotional punching bag.

Mosquitoes in my house. Biting my face. Why my face. The itching is more noticeable, probably because of face skin being sensitive or something. The mosquitoes obviously want to torture me.

Put lotion on your face before bed. doesn't have to be repellant, just a layer of regular moisturizer.

Don't tell anyone that you can see their shadows. If they hear you telling anyone, if you let them know that you know of them, they will get you.

Well, if you put shoe polish on your face, the mosquitos might think you're a racist and avoid you.

Sandpaper is probably the best thing for overly sensitive skin, IMO.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Wear a hair net over your head. Or pantyhose, or a balaclava. Maybe cover your head in tar. Spiders! Cover your head in spiders, they're the perfect defence. Or maybe just find some way to encourage house spiders to live in the dark and dusty corners of your house, that's probably the more efficient solution.
