Yeah, probably. Close enough, anyway, though it's arguably more of a simulation-type thing than an outright 4x. It's worth noting that there's a few notables -- like Dom4, or stuff like EU or your standard military history-style one -- that have considerably longer average playtimes. When you're looking at average, you're looking more like the Civ series, MoO, etc. There's definitely outliers to those.

Does Europa Universalis count?
EU is Grand Strategy, which focuses on politics and overall tactics over micromanaging individual cities or units of soldiers like in 4Xes. More importantly, Grand Strategy tends not to have a win condition and taking a very long time if you don't decide to declare a game finished after completing some arbitrary objective.

Was playing Toribash with a friend, we were sparring and that takes a lot of time and I was really curious for the replay. There was this guy next in waiting list and I didn't want him to skip directly to new game without me seeing the replay so I opened the menu. Clicked Kick. I kicked myself out of the match with few more frames to go because I failed to select his name.

Don't most puzzle games and competitive non-twitch games require mental effort?
...kay, I totally forgot about these.

Color me defeated.

It's non-functioning BBCode. Quote post to see B's failed attempt at wittiness.

Or that, sure.

To BFEL's credit, I loved the joke, but I seem to have skipped over that post until BFEL pointed it out again.

The undead in adventure mode are really hardcore now. It doesn't help that the game decided to give me a silver sword.

Next time, I'll bring warhammers.

I mean, traditionally silver is anathema to the supernatural.

The zombies were armed with knives. aka the most overpowered weapon in the game after the whip.

Then clearly you must WRESTLE THE KNIVES AWAY FROM THEM AND USE THEM AS YOUR OWN!

I did not account for the fact that university offices close an hour early over the summer, and as a consequence I now have a filled-out course addition slip that I cannot use until August, which is when I'll finally have actually moved to the correct city. No opportunities to drive up there again until the move. I know this is my fault, but missing an office closing by less than 5 minutes stings.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
