PE lessons are terrible.

Depends. Cricket, great. Rugby, bad. Football, middlin'.
Rugby>football by a long shot.
I can actually do it.

Rugby is more accessible. The glory of momentum, is its universal applications in sport.

As someone genetically programmed to espouse the beauty of the mud based ballet that we call Rugby Union, I have to point out that anyone can be good at rugby. Whatever your physical dimensions or skill set, there is a role for you, be you a larger gent like myself or a small runny type person.

Don't forget leverage, and pivots. Seriously, even a scrawny guy can be good at tackling if they're good enough at physics (and numb enough to pain). Hell, even I did brilliantly in my two year span on the college rugby team.

My dreams are not unlike yours - they long for the safety, and break like a glass chandelier.
But there's laughter and oh there is love, just past the edge of our fears.
And there's chaos when push comes to shove, but it's music to my ears.

How can you not play rugby? It's really simple, you pick up the ball and then run in a straight-ish line until someone manages to bring you to the floor then you have to pass the ball to someone else so they can run with it.

That's sexist! Haha, only joking  :P

I played Rugby. My school was fanatical about it almost. "We're a grammar school, we must have a sport and a school song!"

But, alas, not for me. Too violent, just wasn't for me.

Also, MH, not everyone can be good at it. Physical fitness is a consideration. Most people can become good at it, though, at least.

Stop ninjas, stop!
I can play rugby, just not particularly well as I don't like it and don't like tackling people.

Dude, I am a 17st blob of flesh. I play in the front row. I don't have to be fit. Just big - big enough to stop anyone within a fat guys lunging range, or to lift a team mate higher than the other teams fat guys, or to push harder for a little longer than them. So, yea, not fit, just fitter than the opposing fat guy.

So? There is a certain strength in weight, and no doubt you train for it, even if it is only in doing.

Not everyone is inherently good at rugby, nor does every one have the instinct for it. Equally, you could say everyone is good at analysis of texts. It's as simple as reading it and making notes, right? Yes, but some people will understand more, and create better notes.

Suppose. Its my own fault for being a highly biased Welshman tbh.

No one's fault, I'm sure. The Northern Irish are quite biased on their rugby, too. And cricket.

I have said many times that if the US notices rugby in a big way, it could alter the face of the sport. You guys produce so many young athletes from your colleges that are hyper fit, of all shapes and sizes, with all the transferable skills needed to play the sport well.

Rugby is known and played here, it just doesn't have a popular appeal.
