Not true, the individual who reads the information has plenty of precautions available to being able to block out offending information.

So you're saying it's an inevitability? Well that's not mutually exclusive with it being bad. And something can still be bad if every alternative is worse! (in which case it's an unfortunate necessity)

Might be awful, I don't suppose anyone would genuinely prefer everyone being abrasive and constructive as opposed to being polite and constructive. I've just seen so many places where attempts to make everything nice and non-offending has just failed miserably on all accounts the moment the userbase got massive, whereas personal freedom has thrived continuously even under growing communities.

Well, if someone's done something to upset you, firing your metaphorical bullets is a perfectly human (and forgivable) thing to do.
If someone was part of a cause actively opposing a cause of your own, I suppose that'd work, too. Simply insulting someone because you feel like being a dick and making someone feel bad, or because they're different from you, would be a "douchebag/jerk" thing to do.

We are putting some paneling on the ceiling. Why wasn't this done before we decorated the place? It's difficult maneuvering ladders around immobile furniture.

Plus the screaming. I'm too short to reach the ceiling even when on the top step of the ladder, and I've honestly never climbed a ladder before in my life, so I had difficulty doing it. Apparently this makes me a pussy.

He gives terrible instructions, and when I can't find what he's looking for, he starts screaming about "compre-fucking-hension". He insists on saying it like that instead of the proper word.

He hands me a twisted roll of measuring tape. Apparently it's my fault that it's twisted.

He hands me an upside-down piece of paneling, and screams at me to turn it properly.

My mom comes home, and he claims there were no problems whatsoever. Then he starts screaming at her because when she's around I apparently turn into a "massive pussy". She hadn't done a thing and he would blame her when something went wrong. Like when the air compressor for the nail gun ran out of air.

At one point he got angry and started cutting out wire from a spare bundle that was laying around and throwing it at us.

But no, there were no problems today whatsoever, according to him. We're the one with the problems, and not him, he says. It's like he isn't even aware of himself.

I think this guy seriously needs professional help.

I can think of several examples where that logic would be absurd. Like, say, physical violence.

In the case of rape, then use in academic circles is still possibly going to offend someone? You talking about it now could be offending people. Why don't you stop?

If you let these things grow, then it gets out of hand. Someone in a gaming circle doesn't know you have been raped. Ergo, it is not deliberately offensive, and therefore it shouldn't be taken as offensive because there was no real feeling behind it.

And I presume that is the reason you find it acceptable to talk about academically; because no one means it offensively.
