Since we're repeating the word, I figured it would helpful to learn where it came from.

The more you know! Or something.

That's great!
Also, "girlcott" and other feminist neologisms that ignore the etymology are just bullshit. Besides being stupid to look at and say, driving support from the neologism and the cause it was created to promote, the word clarifies the feminist argument as rejecting masculinity while yet being entirely defined by it by their own choice of slogans. Is there a better solution? I don't know, I'm not the one trying to create the cultural features of an ideology.

I don't really see the point of feminists. They have equal rights, as far as I know, in most countries. If they were focused on the woman-dominating males of Muslim communities, it would make sense, but to just try to shore something enforced by the legal system seems petty. If they are against bias, that's fine, and all, but how exactly do they intend to combat it? Hardly through the inane chanting of the above slogans.

It's just a pun. Get over yourself.

In other words, you can't tell. I suggest writing a polite letter to an activist near you and ask them to have a coffee-and-conversation somewhere pleasant where they can explain their position to you.

There are plenty of social AND legal battles yet to be fought for feminism. Women still get paid less than men for the same job and are less likely to be promoted. Objectification is still rampant in media. Stuff like that.

But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Personally I just want equal opportunity objectification.

Muscular guys are plenty objectified in some cases. Maybe not near enough to be equal.

I don't know what political activists you interact with, but I find them to be the most unbearable people I ever have to.

I like my sex objects to have personalities and such too. Similar in concept to liking porn with plot.

Idealisation does not equal objectification. Idealised muscular guy beats up mooks, objectified big-busted woman recieves his semen.

Both are equally detrimental to the quality of the work, of course.

Have you seen the covers of cheap women's romance novels? They're all pretty much the same picture actually. Big ripped muscular man carrying woman.

I know big muscle guys can be objectified sexually too, I can safely say I've played oblivion as a muscular male argonian just to have him bare his chest, beat up mooks and talk cute girls and guys into bed before. Exactly for that reason.

Objectification is still rampant in media.

Personally I just want equal opportunity objectification.

I don't want to be objectified. I don't want to have marketing campaigns throwing self-made "ideals" and constructions thrown at me in an effort to make me feel inadequate and bad about who I am and how I look just in order to guilt-trick me into buying their products. I don't want anyone else to have to live under that pressure (and more) either. Equal opportunity objectification is just making society twice as bad.

Idealisation does not equal objectification. Idealised muscular guy beats up mooks, objectified big-busted woman recieves his semen.

The males in those books are usually the actor to the female object "main character" regardless. And yeah, it's usually not women choosing those covers for the books.
