Yes and I could technically go into a 3D movie with a one sided pair of glasses. Still kinda missing the point when the stereoscopic view is lost on me and I end up with a middling quality monitor with half of it's screen space being utilized strapped to my face.

Good point, maybe just invest in other stuff for motion and tracking (or not at all its your preference)

I just really REALLY hope Facebook can turn around all this negative media.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

All for it if I can fly a dragon that fires fucking lasers out of it's mouth in a grainy neon wonderland full of killable cybersoldiers and monsters.

I am being completely serious here, when we invent prosthetics that perform better than organic limbs, I am gonna sell my house and borg the shit out of myself.
And just to illustrate the potential, carbon nanotube muscle-based artificial limbs have been shown to have an effective strength about 130 times higher than the maximum for normal arms and legs. A guy made entirely of CNT muscles will be able to pull off crazy shit a la Metal Gear 4's Raiden with no visible effort.

I think you're forgetting about the 6 degrees of freedom head-tracking...

Though the view might be odd with only one eye, yeah.

The medical tech to actually replace and integrate artificial muscles into someone is way more than 10-20 years away though. We might live long enough for functional equivalents, but not even this generations children are going to see muscle replacement on even a medical prosthetic scale. Let alone improvements. Which may never happen if the health organizations shut it down before it gets off the ground.

Which they honestly really should since if we get into a human improvement stage we're going to split between have and have nots even more.

I think you're forgetting about the 6 degrees of freedom head-tracking...

There's such a thing as TrackIR if I want that. Which I might look into if I ever upgrade to a desktop given how much I enjoy Arma and EUTS2.

I personally can't support Transhumanism for the reasons Janet mentioned too. When we get to the point we can make a human better, people with the means to better themselves in this new way finally actually become the physical, and shortly after gaining acceptance, social betters of "normal" people. It's going to be a mess if it ever happens.

I'm more excited to see vat-grown organs cloned from the transplant recipient's DNA. I'd do with a pegleg if I could get replacement viscera on demand.
