So I'm driving home yesterday from work, and it's a 5 minute commute, except when there's a train and heavy traffic and construction and idiocy and an accident then it becomes a 30 minute commute.

I shit you not, there are regularly days where it takes me 15 minutes to drive what should take 5.

This is partly the result of shitty drivers. As one specific example, people at the front of the line will see the light turn green, and I guess they sit there jacking off and eating waffles for 10 seconds more before hitting that gas pedal. It means 5-8 people get through the light when 15+ should if we all had our shit together. Another specific example is people in a left turn lane cutting it way too close and almost hitting the person in the nearest oncoming traffic lane. These are two behaviors that I noticed are exceptionally common where I live now and were not back in my old town just down the freeway.

Anyway, I was driving home from work and everything was perfect. The train had just come, and I was on the other side of it, meaning all those assholes were stuck and I would have relatively clear roads ahead of me. I hop in my car and start driving, relaxed, cool as a cucumber, nice and smooth. Green lights ahead of me. Then I slam on my brakes because two shitwipe hobo train passengers are jaywalking across the street mid-block. Talking on their cell phones. Glaring at me because ... actually I cannot fathom why this bastard is upset that I stopped for his worthless sack of bones. And they're not just walking. They did that thing where you jog a little when you start crossing and then hunch over and grin and saunter for 3/4 of the way. They were fucking moseying.

And guess what, if I had run into them it would have been my fault. This douchebag (1) doesn't care about his safety, and (2) doesn't care that he's also putting me on the line.

Best part: they ended up crossing mid-block and then walking to the corner and continuing around. They could have walked to the light and waited 10-20 seconds and crossed there legally and in safety. He put his life in extra danger to save 10 seconds.

Yeah jogging all the way across is legit, or until you're out of the way. I personally wouldn't cross if I had to full-on run to make it, I'd just wait for a better opportunity.

EA. Fuck EA with a rusty, molasses-covered, tetanus-infested ten-foot spike.

For some reason, I wanted to give you money in return for access to a game. Maybe someone had clonked me over the head while I was asleep.

But noo, you wanted to fuck up. Beyond belief. Sure, the base game will work, but the expansion you got with it? We'll give you the expansion's intro, loading blurbs, and regions, but you can't have any of the actual content. Support? All support will do is have you redownload. Restart. Relog. Go into your computer's program files, program data, and registry keys to scrub the existence of Origin from your computer, do a clean boot, and then reinstall it. Doesn't work? We'll give you to the advanced team who, while they might actually know what they're doing, but you'll pass on any chance of a refund if you go that path because by the time you can get in touch with them, 24 hours will have passed since you first opened the game.

Fuck you, EA. At least I'm getting my money back.

So I leave at 9 AM to go to the bank. I arrive there and not only is it packed full, not only are only a few machines working, but there is also no kind of air conditioning. It was like standing in a sauna. But it gets better! My card gets stuck in one of the machines, and it takes me a long time to get it out. Then I go to the next machine... whose buttons and touchscreen are completely and utterly fucked up. Finally I get to the "working" machine, but the barcode scanner it has is broken, so I have to type in the 30+ digit code on their shitty keyboard. All this took about two hours. To pay a bill worth around 20 dollars. Fucking banks.

So got an IME quiz back today, failed it, but that's more of a sad than a rage. The rage part was how I failed.

There was one multi-part question that was worth about one third of the entire quiz, but I misread it and thought it said from bottom to top instead of top to bottom. So I answered the entire thing correctly, but in the opposite direction, so I got it all wrong. I would have had a B if I read it more carefully.

Yeah, Origin is pretty much the worst thing ever. I remember when I played Dragon Age we just couldn't get any of the DLC content to work on separate windows accounts, so after beating the base game I had to copy all my files over to my brother's account and play on that from then on.

I like how I started trying to update Burnout: Paradise through Origin. After downloading 20%, it seizes up. Restarting Origin causes the same thing to happen. Restarting my computer causes the same thing to happen. The listed fixes are like, changing your IP address and all this other bullshit.

It's such a fucking joke compared to Steam. I ended uninstalling Origin and all of it's games, just so I could get rid of the broken ass Burnout: Paradise install.

Something tells me if Richard Garriott had developed the Origin marketplace it would work flawlessly, be full of awesome easter eggs, and in 20 years when the world had marched on the South Americans and East Europeans would still be having a great time with it.

But dude's probably all cavorting with supermodels in space or something.

Eeeeeyup. I think the only Origin game I have is Spore. Thankfully it didn't balls up my computer when I installed it. >_>

Is Spore Origin? It's really the only EA game I have that's relatively recent...

... Then again, I have a couple hundred games, so one of them probably IS Origin. Is there a list of Origin games?

I'll probably have to get Origin for Crysis 3 because there's no way in hell I am not going to play that.

Of course, I'll still have to finish Crysis 1 and 2 first, which thankfully are on Steam.
