It's fun to be the guy training for/going to college to be one of those security guys, who puts in filters and stuffs.  I get to watch people be really angry about a web-filter, and then I can imagine the guy on the other end being really mad when someone sneaks through the filter.

Curious though, is it a college or a workplace that you're raging about, Octo?

The above is a perfect example of why good writers tend to either write what they know or write things that operate outside the normal physical/technological paradigm.

Being able to justify your corny chemistry or power sources because of magic is one thing, being able to hack the interwebs because you're a graphical designer is completely another.  You'd think they'd at least do some research before they get this crap published, or that an editor would look it over.

Maybe one of these days.

Numb3rs is the worst I've ever seen with that (the episode with the Riemann Hypothesis in particular).  Fucking hell.  The number of people who watch that show and go "LOL I LOVE MATH"

Watching an LP of God of War 3:
Alright, besides the obvious thing of the gods being able to be killed in the first place and some god/Titan designs being terrible, for fucks sake Kratos don't go on a god killing rampage and then only fuck Aphrodite. Kill her too! I want a protagonist who's a horrible person rather than 'mynah I'm grim and sullen and kills everyone but I's a good guy and only did bad things because of the gods mynah'

In Greek religion gods could be sort of  killed,  esp by each other. Heck,  Zeus killed his own father

Kronos lived(s?) forever in unspeakable torment. He didn't actually die when he got carved up into a thousand pieces.

Neither did Zeus when he fought ... Triton? Typhon. King of monsters. He spent a while as a pile of limbs in a basket before the other gods stole him back and he dropped a mountain on big T.
