You guys are making me want to move to Portland.

San Francisco is better :<

come play with meeeeeeeeeee

Two reasons I can't:
1) Wife hates cities.
2) Need to stay near family to take care of them as they get older.
Phantom 3rd reason: Living outside SF in the suburbs risks living near Crazy Bible Bash Town USA, doesn't it? Or are those places further away?

I think they're a little more N, NE of SF.

It always weirds me out to hear about California rednecks. It clashes terribly with all my other preconceptions of Californians.

I don't think so... there's been so much gentrification here that you'd probably be fine.  Of course, if you've heard elsewhere, don't take my word for it--but the suburbs would, I think, be all right.

I have located Heresy.
EXTERMINATE
EXTERMINATE
EXTERMINATE

Sure it's probably sound as a show but the concept and what I've read of it have me more incensed than the time I saw TTGL in the midst of my nihilistic douche phase.

You don't like the concept of Lovecraftian monsters being turned into moe anime girls?

This pleases me intensely. *popcorn*

You should watch the OVA because magical girl Nyarlathotep. It goes about as well as you'd expect.

What exactly would 'nihilistic douche' be anyway? That combination confuses me.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

I may have to use that for my 40k RPG games. It's quite catchy.

I'm imagining someone who goes up to people who are obviously happy and content and saying "NOTHING ACTUALLY MATTERS. YOUR DREAMS AND IDEALS ARE WORTHLESS."

Of course an actual nihilist wouldn't care enough to do that (or anything, really).

I think a nihilistic douche would basically be a poser. Someone who quotes Nietzsche like they just re-discovered it while also getting petulant that their iPhone sucks.
