It has not been my week. First, on Saturday, my stepdad demanded my rent money, so I had to cash my check. This required adding about 4 miles to my normal weekend trip. The last half of this is through 6 inch-high snowbanks, since there's no bicycle lane and no sidewalk(covered under aforementioned 6 inches of snow), and only three inches between the curb and someones fender. And worse, by the time I finally get home, it's snowing because it's not like there's been enough goddamn snow this year. Then my stepdad tries to lie and say I paid him short, then when I called him out on it he claimed it must of been the bills sticking together(note, the bills were not sticking together).

Nearly lost my job when I suddenly remembered a doctor's appointment that I made months ago, though I do understand that a day's notice is not really a good thing. I had to reschedule it for today partly because they'd be really shorthanded that day(other part, see below).

Then I found out I won't be seeing my sweetheart as much as either of us would like this semester, but I post the details of that in the sad thread.

And more recently, my mother has been sick in the hospital with a constant nosebleed. No idea what the exact cause is, but it's fairly bad.

But...Chrome doesn't install extensions on it's own. That's kind of a thing you have to authorize, as far as I'm aware. I've checked and I don't have any extensions installed, because I've never installed any.

I'm pretty sure what majikero is talking about is Google AdSense (or maybe it's something else, but I know it's Google owned), which replaces some words with adlinks in sites that have opted into the system. However, if you see ads like that on Bay 12 or another site like this that doesn't have ads, that's not normal and you most likely have some sort of adware installed.

This is something AdBlock Plus gets rid of in my experience.

Yeah, several people have reported problems with Chrome to me at work over the last few days. Disabling a majority of their plugins seemed to resolve the issue, in part at least.

It may be horrifically inefficient but at least it's not owned by Google. (Yet)

I don't see why google would want to have mozilla, they already have a browser. And those pointless-sounding chromebooks.
