Online comments are not original reporting. In the age of the internet, every fucking opinion possible is out there, and given an opportunity to state it, someone will.

That someone unrelated to the story has an opinion isn't fucking news! Two paragraphs about the actual story, and then four paragraphs about what people on Twitter think. Who gives a fuck what people on Twitter think! Who gives a fuck what anyone thinks, feels or opines on a given news story. Those aren't facts.

I'm starting to regret not pursuing a journalism career after college. Because it seems like the easiest fucking work in the world at this point. Get up, check the internet, repost what was already covered by local news (i.e. the people doing actual journalism), then check Twitter/Facebook so you can cherry pick the stupidest comments to pad the article.

Feels like it. Especially when they probably have 3 to 4 full-time employees whose job it is to check Youtube for the funniest video of the day to put on the main page. You know, that thing you do reflexively while you're on the toilet. Or that 30-something they hired to write a joke article a day called "This really matters?" Sometimes it gets so meta I wonder if it's secretly a joke.

Ohhhh, yeah. It's gotten to the point where I just ignore half the news articles and click away once I've gotten information.

Like, seriously. If I cared what the twitheads were saying, I'd have a twitter account and use it. So would anyone else. Or they would browse a dedicate website, I'm sure one exists. I don't need a "respectable" news corp to regurgitate it at me. Give me news, not "Ha, lookit dees idjits."


Edit: Dutch: A lot of news sites sympathized. Fox, CNN, I think even MSNBC but I might be wrong on that front (Canadian, you know)

Even the BBC is catching that bug, with some atricles open for comment. Seems even the worlds bastion for politically neutral journalism is populated by dickheads posting shit.

Well, most drugs are harmless when combined with alcohol, it's simply due to when antibiotics were prescribed for Syphilis (Whilst they're taking them, you don't want them to get drunk and have sex with someone until they've stopped being contagious)

However, some do turn poisonous/toxic (not sure which it would be, truth be told), so probably best to follow the advice and avoid drinking and drugs.

Specifically, alcohol and most painkillers are both CNS depressants, so adding alcohol to your painkillers will ramp up several of the side effects (including the ones that kill you).
