I hate icy roads. School is cancelled and I can't leave even if there were anywhere else to go, because fuck driving on icy roads. So, I'm stuck at home when I would normally be at school, just in time for my miserable sister to bring her kids over and be miserable at our place instead of hers.
The same may happen to me, except I can't even drive. Also, there's nowhere in particular I want to go.

I hate this paper.

I just wrote five pages on the "style" of The Waste Land.  My thesis was that all the shit that makes it so hard to read, like the random transition to new images and points of view and shit, is all actually very intentional and its effect is to defy any attempts to just read it line by line like a traditional poem.  The structure of the poem has to be grasped as a whole in order to really grasp its meaning.

I go to get a quick read on what she wants with it, and it's basically "read it line by line like a traditional poem."  In other words, not only is most of what I wrote useless, I have to do exactly what I think you're not supposed to do with The Waste Land.

EDIT:  I got it figured out.  I'm gonna start with an explanation that it can't be read like that, then I'm going to take a page or two to say why you can't read it like that, then once we've established that we can move inward and start talking about the micro-scale elements of the poem.

Have you considered finding a way to embed an animated gif in a printed paper? Because I feel like that one would go really well on the last page.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Ah, fuck. I'm trying to make a proof for a chemical/physical calculation. I've spent 10 pages and about 12 hours on it now, and cannot find the answer.

Four bars everywhere in the house. Every website I try fully loads in one second tops. Youtube still refuses to load more than five seconds of video at a time, auto-drops the quality to 144p and tells me my connection is slow.

That's called DASH. It only loads five seconds at a time because it's designed that way. Get Youtube Center. You can disable it that way.

3-6 inches of accumulated, road-icing, traffic clogging snow is on it's way. While this ordinarily would be a cause for joy at the prospect of school closure, it is occurring at 10 in the morning. So all I can do is pray Bloomberg takes mercy on us one last time.

That needs to be a youtube video, to complete the circle of irony.

Apparently I'm a racist for doing what everyone was doing; Calling The Affordable Care Act Obamacare.

I FUCKING HATE it when someone falsely claims something is racist so that a discussion will be silenced. Fucking hate that shit. FUCK.

I know. The woman (Melissa Harris-Perry) is an idiot who is trying to silence political opponents by using ad hominem.

Well, she's not the first. I have a teacher who also dislikes the term "Obamacare", citing a study that reported that the same group of people who, when polled on whether they approved of the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act", overwhelmingly said yes then overwhelmingly said that this disliked "Obamacare".

However, she instead calls it the "Affordable Healthcare Act", which grinds my gears, especially since she has passed on the erroneous name to everyone in the class (except me).
