Stupid thread would have worked, but it got locked by toady.
Why was that anyway? The closing post mentioned something about the thread causing a load of problems, but if anything the stupid thread has been moderated less than any of the emotion threads.

It probably involved Bay12ers calling other Bay12ers stupid.

No, it's just regular foolish idiocy. No more genius than any other foolish idiocy.

Paypal applies a 1,31 USD per Euro change rate, instead of the standard 1,35

Steam. So the big autumn sale is on, and I have about 3 € that I've made from selling cards and shit I don't need. Not much to do with it. Until I noticed CiV was on sale, which means its DLC is on sale, and after checking it out, it turns out that my best bet is to upgrade it to the Gold version (since that one gives all DLC and a free Gods&Kings too boot) for 2.5 €.

Except for some reason the purchase can't be completed because there's an issue with initializing or updating my transactions. Fucks sake people, I buy from you two times a year, and trough your own freaking system of funds and one of those times you have to give me problems.

It's good for Americans buying European stuff, but not Europeans buying American stuff.

You're thinking too small: We get an American on this board to set up a paypal account, send him money via another channel that has the 1.35 rate, and he sends it back to us via PayPal, slowly bleeding that corporation...
