It's curtains for you.

"It's curtains for you, Doctor Horrible. Gently wafting lacy curtains..."

One does not simply curtains, it seems.

Avast has a self-defense module. You have to disable that to allow force-close on it.

As does MSE. Might help turning off its real-time protection too. I've never had it interfere with stuff, but with two AVs installed....it could help.

Damnit.

Parents wake up early and we clean all morning... So no MLP S4 for me this morning :P

Less stress rage and more 'Rawr' rage as I can always find it on YT later.

Having to work the school's Thanksgiving feast. Apparently, I, and everyone else, wasn't allowed to have a lunch break that day, but only found this out secondhand about an hour after my break. Luckily, I thought to bring my own lunch. I also had to work an hour later. That, combined with the usual Hell is Friday for Me, I am really tired. Not helping is the fact my younger sister really snores, making it hard to sleep.

On the plus side, I was told that this year has been the best year so far as far as keeping up with the dishes(my responsibility) during the feast.

Another rage is the fact that my stepdad keeps moving my bike around in the garage, and today, I found the back tire heavily deflated, despite being fine a week ago.

EDIT: Oh hell, once again I try to use a Mastercard prepaid gift card to buy something(in particular, the Sigma Bundle from Indie Royale), and it doesn't work, even through Paypal. A week ago, I used the same card to buy a mouse from Newegg, and it worked. What the hell?

My computer has decided that it doesn't like USB ports. I'm glad I was able to get a PS/2 mouse to use, but this presents an unsurmountable obstacle in taking pictures of the thing I was trying to cook. >______________<

EDIT: Also, Google has, for the last several days, decided that when I press "back", I want to go to the page prior to the last, eliminating the actual most recent search I'd done from history somehow.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

HOLY FUCK. This is the stupidest night in recent memory. I just pulled the hard drive out of a laptop, shoved it in my desktop (disconnecting the DVD/CD-ROM drive to use its cables), and am now copying stuff off the desktop's hard drive via the Linux installation so that I can do a clean Windows install even without the ability to back things up via external HD (fuckin' USB ports still on the fritz). Thank God I don't encrypt my Windows installs, or I'd be proper fucked.

And I was so pleased with how everything was working just a few days ago. I'd installed 93 Skyrim mods, and they all worked fine together on the first try! That's fucking unprecedented!

93 mods? My god, man. Give us a list, so that we may bask in your general insanity.

I can't even get vanilla to work, how the hell can you get that many mods to function at the same time?

Eh, 93's not too bad.  Last I checked I had something around 160?  Yeah there was an occasional CTD, but hey they worked for the most part.  The more I think about it, the more crashes I remember, it worked but there was like one or two corrupt mods I downloaded and could never find.

I'm actually confused about to why your USBs started dying, how old was the laptop?

Yeah, my understanding is that 93 isn't too crazy (for somebody who gets into mod-installing) - I wasn't surprised that it worked, but that it worked first try. There are people who need to use shenanigans to avoid the built-in cap of 250 mods, I'm given to understand. I'll post a list in the Skyrim thread in Other Games later, once I've got my computer back on its feet, many hours from now.

Also, it wasn't the laptop whose USB ports are broken (it has its own issues), but rather the desktop's. It's about 5 years old, which, wow, that seems too old but I'm pretty sure that's the case. As far as I can tell, I nudged a USB cable on a camera just enough to disconnect and then immediately reconnect it, which is known to cause a computer to lose its shit with regards USB. Permanently breaking it didn't come up in any of my searches, but from the Generic Computer Advice thread, I'm guessing that's what's happened, and I'll need to buy a new case.

EDIT: I encountered my load order during backing up stuff, so here ya go.

I'm seriously pissed off at the program I have to use to do online homework right now.

Off by a few pennies? Wrong answer. Plus the wording is so vague at times I can't tell what equation I'm supposed to use.

Worst of all, if an answer is wrong it will take marks off your total. It's entirely possible that your final score will be in the negatives.
