Gender and racial equalities are starting to take it's toll on my general disposition.

I'm in college and, as college should be, I have a teacher who makes us actually work at collegiate level.  Term papers, using our brains, projects, actual things that our high school teachers warned us college would be like.  Not like some of the classes that I've taken which is pretty much "show up, do the questions in the back of the chapter, go home."  This is a refreshing break from most of my collegiate experience insofar, having a teacher who actually encourages learning through hard work.  It's of course a technological class, security based (CISSP for those out there who know of it), and is of course filled with many men and a few sprinklings of women who are actually interested in the field.

Then we have that one Hispanic female who wants to breeze on through without doing any work at all.  Since our teacher is so unfair and coddling with his "boy's club," she must make certain that administration knows about how he's mistreating the females!

So now my teacher's getting flak about his class being too hard.  A class where the material and knowledge level is difficult to begin with, is now being deemed "too hard" because some whiny, lazy woman complained that she had to do a term paper.  We take two or three grades in that class in total:  Term Paper,  Team Term Paper (which is yours combined with two others in a well-written document), and end of the chapter tests that take 3 minutes to do and have their answers in an appendix in the back.  The woman in question can actually be dropped from this class because she's failed to show up to class more than 4 times, and any attempts to actually help her with the material are shot down, with her basically wanting the work done for her.  Since she's a woman though, and Hispanic, her opinion obviously means more than the other Hispanic and White males in there, therefore the work is far too hard!

There's equality (which is fine and dandy, and I try to treat everyone equally), and then there's looking for advantages over others because your skin is a shade darker, or because you've got boobs.

I dont remember a 100%, but there was a great meme along the lines of "I want equality for x, except fot those situations when x is treated better.".

We have two girls in our trade school class who demanded that they could wear their Burkas in class (in switzerland, you pull whatever you wear on your head off when school or meetings start, its impolite otherwise) for religious reasons. They also refused to do homework and would get angry if any form of discussion about their behavior and traditions would come up. Eventually the whole class started to shun and ignore them, which shouldnt surprise anyone since they acted like overprivileged tosspots. Eventually they complained about this on the school board and now they tried to force us into an extra class about "accepting and integrating other cultures". I've got another "invitation" (pretty much a letter with flowery wording along the lines of "you will show up or we will slap a big racist-stamp on your forehead.") which i will ignore like the rest. It drives me crazy tough, especially since it might have a negative influence on my job future. And there isnt much i can do because of the impenetrable minority-forcefield they deploy.

groups of people are bullshit, so is society in general. individuals can be nice but don't count on it

good luck dealing with their shit though.

I usually try to avoid wording it like that, since it might come over as overly pessimistic, but i find myself agreeing with you wholeheartedtly. Its amazing how i dislike around 80% of the people i meet trough work and school. I dont know if its the current generation with their stupid facebook/twitter obsession, and the constant need to party and everyone invading my personal space, or if im just not a people-person.

I used to agree with that statement, until I started attending my uni. Most people are just so chill here.

I tried to explain an anime to someone in my class.

Need I say much else?
Which anime? Out of curiosity.
First real one I've watched, Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai, I think that's how it's spelled.

If you watch it, you'll see it's not that hard to understand. :I

Yup, it's all about finding the right crowd. Uni > last three years of gymnasium > gymnasium before that > grammar school. Kindergarten was nice, though, as far as I remember.

The F***ing Ransomware Virus, like the police will totally lignore you distributing prohibited pornography if you give them a few pounds.
(This time it was the European Cybercrime Centre)
That one is tame. Here's the one everyone should be absolutely terrified of: http://arstechnica.com/security/2013/10/youre-infected-if-you-want-to-see-your-data-again-pay-us-300-in-bitcoins/
Quote
According to multiple participants in the month-long discussion, CryptoLocker is true to its name. It uses strong cryptography to lock all files that a user has permission to modify, including those on secondary hard drives and network storage systems. Until recently, few antivirus products detected the ransomware until it was too late. By then, victims were presented with a screen like the one displayed on the computer of the accounting employee, which is pictured above. It warns that the files are locked using a 2048-bit version of the RSA cryptographic algorithm and that the data will be forever lost unless the private key is obtained from the malware operators within three days of the infection.
Quote
None of the reddit posters reported any success in breaking the encryption. Several also said they had paid the ransom and received a key that worked as promised. Full backup files belonging to Nic's clients were about a week old at the time that CryptoLocker first took hold of the network. Nic advised them to comply with the demand. The ransomware operators delivered a key, and about 24 hours later, some 400 gigabytes of data was restored.
Quote
Because CryptoLocker encrypted all files that an infected computer had access to, the ransomware in many cases locked the contents of backup disks that were expected to be relied upon in the event that the main disks failed.
Quote
Earlier this year, researchers from Symantec who infiltrated the servers of one ransomware syndicate conservatively estimated that its operators were easily able to clear $5 million per year.
See this shit i would expect the fucking NSA to actually help out to break the fucking encryption cause if this hits commercially, people are going to get reamed HARD. I had one of these once but i was able to successfully pulled the key out of the infected file and decrypt the drive but boy was a pain in the ass and that one was lucky, this was before the ransomwares.

The driver's side key lock on my car has become completely non-functional. I knew it's been coming for a long time now, but still pisses me off. At least it works from the inside.

Also, my back hurts! I need a new mattress.

I freaking love Nestea Green (Citrus), it's pretty much the default drink for me, and I buy almost literal bucketloads of it - around 5 1,5 liter bottles (2 gallons total) each grocery-shopping trip.

I also despise every other flavor available, aside from a long-gone white one, for being way to sweet and/or tasting like a artificial flavoring factory spill.

Now, I have two shops like 5 minutes away, but for some reason the price varies wildly - and in both it's higher than I deem reasonable (5.99 and 5.20 PLN per bottle).

When I discovered a supermarket that's on my way back from uni happens to have a good supply at 4.20 per bottle, I pretty much started doing all my non-uber-urgent shopping there.

This weekend I've been off to my parents' house, so I didn't shop before I leave and so, today, after six hours of classes and lectures, I made my way to the supermarket.

THERE WAS A SINGLE BLOODY BOTTLE LEFT, THEY BOUGHT A FUCKTON OF AWFUL, PSEUDO-STRAWBERRY CRAP AND NOT A SINGLE OF THE ONE I LIKE.

#Firstworldproblems, I guess, but still RAEG.

~CryptoSnip~
Cryptolocker is pretty nasty indeed. Most of the ransomwares are pretty tame and don't encrypt your files. Out of those who do, there are a few that have a fixed key (so you can easily decrypt them after removal) and only one other that encrypts your files with a random key in a relatively strong encryption.

Yeah, i mean, what are you expecting? The government try to stop active criminals rather than snoop around innocent citizens? Try to be sensible here.

Yea the issue nowadays is the ransomwares upgraded with botservers so unless you pulled the plug early or killed the computer your stuff is locked by a crypterbox in bumfuck nowhere.

Yeah, i mean, what are you expecting? The government try to stop active criminals rather than snoop around innocent citizens? Try to be sensible here.
Lol shit, Obama wanted an internet police, agency how about one that works for the damn people :P
