For ulcers, I usually just rub salt into 'em.
...That's hardcore.

Errr... I actually think that might be standard practice? For the mouth, a mouthful of strongly salty water was always what I was told to do.

Yep, but there is a difference between "I wash my mouth with salt water" and "I rub salt into my ulcers", isn't that so?

Prettys sure there's a fairly large difference, yes.

So my dad decides to check out some show from Discovery.

But that's not the bad part.

It's some showed called *mumble* cheapskates. Goddamnit humanity!

Why do you always make my expectations on what other people do lower exponentially!

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

C'mon. You all know that the best way to deal with a wound is to dust-off and nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

What's the best way of handling an ulcer in one's mouth? I've got a large one that's gotten worse over the last few days and I'm debating about whether treating it or just leaving it be so I don't get the foul substance in my mouth.
Hydrogen peroxide help, and I've heard that rinsing your mouth with salt water does too. Mouthwash might help as well, but it hurts like fuck.

I have a sneaking suspicion that all three would be unpleasant.

Nahhhh. I'm sure hydrogen peroxide on an ulcer in your mouth feels great.
