SO...
At the end of last month I thought to myself, "You know what I haven't played lately... Guild Wars 2...."
SO after downloading the client ALL OVER AGAIN (Which if you have ever tried to download takes god damn long due to their download servers being fucked, whats that you download at just over 1mb/s? LOL! NOPE try downloading at less then 200kb/s OR BETTER YET 1kb/s)
So anyway, after a day or so of waiting, I finally am sitting there looking at the login laucher...... WTF WAS MY LOGIN DETAILS!!?!?!?
So. I click, "Forgot Username/Password"
What is your Email, Serial Number and a character on your account........... WTF!?!?! Ok sure they may need to ask for the Serial Number due to the fact that large MMOs like this require absolute knowledge that you are playing your account, BUT CHARACTER NAME!?!?! If you haven't been playing there is no way in hell you will remember... Go on, try and remember a name for a character you made on a REALLY OLD game....
ANYWAY, I filled it out the best I could, NOPE, Contact Support... SO I do...
"We found that the account attached to this serial number uses an Email different to the one you have supplied, though it is attached to the accounts Beta, please verify that this is still your account." (Loosely transcribed...)
Ok so, I was in the Beta, I signed up with my Normal Email which is the same as the one I am using now, but when the game came out, it kinda derped and wouldn't let me use the same one for the real game, and so I used an older one I still sort of used. Nowdays, I never use it cause its filled with spam that some "Friends" decided to prank me with by signing up to like 1000 sites newsletters with, which is a lot if you consider things like Porn and "Penis Enlargement" newsletters you can sign up to with little to no repuccusions other then an email which would take you forever to stop every single one... I abandoned that Email account straight away.... BUT, this was well after I stopped playing GW2...
Anyway, after like 3 days of them asking me question and question for me to prove that it was my account they finally exchanged the email to my true account. Oh and in doing that they reset my password.......... OK. AND what was my new password? Oh thats sent to my OLD EMAIL. FFS...
So I let them know, another day later, I get the password. I set up a new password, go back to the Launcher...
"The Username/Password is invalid. Please make sure your blah blah blah...."
WTF... So I go to log back into my Account to clear up my password again, double check all my log in details...
"The Username/Password is invalid. Please make sure your blah blah blah...."
Double WTF with a FFS on top...
And here we are. Sent them another plea for help. I really really hate these sorts of Account Protection, but seriously... WTF
