Also, it needs three clicks now rather than two. This is inordinately frustrating.

It's very likely they have employees whose sole responsibility is updating the layout and design. Those people would have a very high incentive to change things frequently, to ensure that they retain job security.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

@Vector: :'(

None of that talk is even true. It's like treating people with different appearances with a 'normalizing' (or at least something dealing with what they perceive to be approved by society? I'm unsure--I don't usually hear that kind of. . .excuse my wording, 'crap' in my area. Yes, hearing that just incited anger here..and Solifuge speaks mostly of what I'm saying. You don't have to look good to gain any significant thing-it's all in the attitude..is what my thoughts bluntly say.
Eating well, getting enough exercise, and generally keeping your body clean, healthy and well-maintained. These are some of the best ways to look good that I know of. And when you recognize the cultural "Beauty" blinders you've fitted yourself with, it's easier to recognize how things like a person's energy level, how genuine their facial expressions seem, the clarity of their voice, the symmetry of their face, how fit and healthy they are, and so on determine how attractive we actually find people.
Don't believe in those fads that encourage a 'perfect body' over the common concept of health and how the body works (medically), because IMO, they usually speak to what attracts a person instead of what should help the person.

Most people seem to prefer to judge by physical traits than personality-based ones. I do the latter and you're quite awesome.

...Also I feel like its the culture there that's saying that. Or the social...perception(?) of what others usually go for.
Which is mostly categorization and generalization. That ain't good.
...And I'm siding with Flying Dice. There are people initially attracted by physical looks, but its their behavior and character that keeps that attraction (yeah, even if you're darn 'ugly'. I speak from personal experience.)
..We're all self-conscious at a point. But being flat-chested? Nothing wrong there. At all. Ever.

Be proud of how you look or how you are. Because from where I see it, you're quite healthy.

It's very likely they have employees whose sole responsibility is annoying everyone else in the internet.. Those people would have a very high incentive to change things frequently, to ensure that they retain job security.

Not really. Now it holds no explanatory power.

The tiny shop in my middle of nowhere village is being systematically targetted by a group of thieves, who have now escalated into threatening and abusive behaviour towards the shop, towards locals trying to protect the shop, and towards law enforcement simply doing thier job in arresting those responsible. Some people are fucking pathetic.

Gah! Why do I have to panic so? I couldn't even get myself to talk to her. I hate myself right now. All I could manage was a passing "Hi!"... which, granted, is more than I could previously do, though the look she gave me in return was something like "What the f- oh, hi!", which I hope was merely surprise at being addressed.

Just got a corporate email which contained several greengrocers' apostrophes.  I really don't want to be a grammar nazi, but for some reason that I'm having difficulty explaining I get very annoyed when I see people use apostrophes incorrectly.  I usually actually stop reading the sentence at that point, swear at the grammatical mistake in my head, then go back to reading.

This applies to when people add extra apostrophes, such as writing birthday's when you're just referring to more than one birthday and not something belonging to a birthday, or when people forget an apostrophe, such as the word mens when you really should have written men's.

I... just do not understand why people get this wrong so often.  I always thought the rules for possessive apostrophes were pretty simple...

Same thing with then and than.  Sometimes I wish English would just get rid of apostrophes and words that sound too similar because people seem to get those wrong almost as often as they get them right it seems.

Maybe I just expected better from a corporate email?  Or maybe I'm just biased because I notice and remember the mistakes more than when people get it right.

I can't help but wonder why?  What about that shop in particular is drawing such attention?

greengrocers' apostrophes
These things.  So much hate.  I one day expect my significant other to fly into a murderous rage because of greengrocers' apostrophes.

I suspect they are targeting the shop as it is a soft target. I further suspect that they target shops such as this all over the area in some kind cycle, moving from one to the next.
