No, it's really not. The way to get back at him is to retaliate, whether you like it or not.
I didn't mean saying those exact words was a good idea, just using that technique.

Also, I can't retaliate because parents. Also, If you saw my arms, you'd see my second reason for not wanting to try that.

Just had a BSoD. An honest to goodness Blue Screen of Death. :o
I thought these things were just a story, something that happened on really old computers. Apparently not. Now I'll have to kill those elves all over again. :-\

Re: Sibling troubles. I can't exactly relate to the situation, since all my (half)siblings are far older than I am, but in my experience laughing along with a moron's insults really does stop 'em in their tracks.
Violence is always the most satisfying answer, though, but if you really really can't bear to knock him on his ass, just laugh it off.

Last time I had a BSOD was when my video card crapped out.

Steam causes BSOD on my craptop each and every time I close it. Now, as a result, I hardly ever open it.

So, this afternoon I booted up Planetside 2 again because I hadn't in a while.
I remembered why.
It's not just unfun. It is frustrating. Almost every time I died it felt cheap and undeserved, and any kill (or more likely assist), of which there were hardly any, felt like I was lucky rather than like I'd done anything. The colossal lag didn't help either. My framerate hardly went above 20, and often wasn't even in the double digits; and that's in an almost-empty area. When in a large battle or moving to a new area the framerate dropped to 0.2 fps or so. Fucking awful.

Then there's the weapon unlock system; it would take almost a week of playing for hours a day to get even the cheapest guns. I cannot think of a single other MMO that has such a fuckpendously high ratio between time and reward. Especially considering that you need to spend certs on specialised weapons and utility items to be at all useful beyond being an ammo-sink for the enemy.

And then when you're done eating a quarter of a clip full of bullets or so, you have to spend 10 minutes trudging back over to the front line to diligently get shot again. Poor game all around fuck this.

SOE just hasn't nerfed the NC enough.

This is fucking ridiculous.

I have scaled this load multiple times. Each time, it comes up overweight. Each time, I have to travel 15 miles back the way I came to get it re-loaded (as the driver of an overloaded truck faces heavy fines if caught). Each time, I then drive back to the scale to try again, hoping that the warehouse people got it right this time. This time, the scale is being worked on and the next scale is two hours away.

Oh, and I'm not getting paid for any of this. Fuck.

If the scale is being worked on, maybe it's the scale that's bad?

Huge amounts of time doign nothing, pointlessly random fighting, under-equipped, poor morale, all around miserable? That's war in real life. That one quote "The life of a soldier is long periods of boredom followed by short periods of terror" fits pretty well, except you don't actually die, so terror is just stupid.

Boy, that'd be nice. The truck stop employee says its being "calibrated", so who knows? I'm just really hoping that I can finally get a move on. This load is already going to be late and there's not a thing I can do on that front, except get there as soon as possible.

But it's supposed to be a game. And so enjoyable. It's more like a tedium simulator.
