I am so fucking close to getting this to work. So goddamn close. I know what the problem is, I can even kinda predict what it does to my results (not quite well enough to counteract it in a general case), but I can't find it, and I've been looking for the better part of 5 hours. The whole program is 40 lines of code! How can something be so goddamn elusive. If I understood what the code was actually doing, I'd probably be done by now

The problem is with the math, or rather, with my implementation of some math as code. I'm overcounting some results in a statistics question, which I think would make it difficult to find the error unless somebody also understood exactly what the comment-free* code is supposed to be doing.

*I'm a terrible programmer, and have nobody to blame but myself. Also I have the original expression available as a form of comment. However, quite probably I should go comment through it to make sure I know what everything's doing.
