Gonna restate what I sometimes say: Little girls and Grandmothers are OK, but all women should be locked in breeding camps from puberty to menopause.

Internet slowing down to a crawl for no apparent reason again.

Might be the weather. It's cloudy out.

Huh. That's weird.

Sorry for falsely accusing you of trolling Vector, Vactor  :-[

I'm a bit late to the party, I guess I missed something.

Hahaha, one of our forumites is popular enough to warrant an impersonator. I'm not sure if the subject of the impersonation should feel proud or worried.

Personally, I think Vactor is another regular forumite altogether.
Yes. Vactor is another person altogether, and a legit and well respected forum member. Though Vactor hasn't been around much in a long while apart from popping their head in once or twice.

And here I always thought that everyone just skims my name and reads it as (the much more active and renowned) Vector.

And yes the similarities in our names was coincidental as far as I'm aware, but you'd have to check Vector's side of the story to confirm that.  I actually remember the first time our paths crossed, Vector gave me some very through feedback on some writing I shared.

The first time I talked to Vector privately, it was about Jeremy Bentham.

...

Yeah.

Coincidentally the first PM I sent on the forum.

I think Vattic was also traditionally included in the "confuseable-V-named-forum-users" group.

I ended up arguing doctrine with a Mormon on Facebook today. Now, let me preface this by saying that, firstly, I'm agnostic these daays, but raised Catholic and then Anglican; politically liberal, but theologically conservative. I also like Mormons themselves a lot; it's Mormonism I have an axe to grind with.

This was what it is like: think of creationists shouting that "we have Creation SCIENCE!" And then someone who actually knows how science works goes "No, that isn't science," but you can never get anywhere because the creationist isn't just wrong; they're not even wrong.

Now replace "creationist" with "Mormon" and "science" with "theology". That's what it's like.

that reminds of the time my cousin Amanda went to the mormon.com facebook page and kept asking them "Do mormons eat placenta?" repeatedly untill they responded.

after a day and a half of persistence they responded with "No" (who woulda thunk it)

to which she replied with "WHAT!?" then the mormom.com facebook page blocked her.

it was kindof funny but overall pointless.

edit: I have no say in what religion is right or wrong, i say believe whatever you want to believe.

I've never found Mormons or Mormonism to be any worse than any other branch of Christianity. Usually the people who think so were either raised Catholic and told that Mormons aren't real Christians, or raised Protestant and told that Catholics/Mormons aren't real Christians.

Mormons are apparently on the bottom of the "real Christians" hierarchy. But trust me, the crazy shit they do doesn't look any crazier than some of the stuff you do. You're just biased.

I'm going to bow out, here, because otherwise I'll start arguing theology, and I suspect flames would shoot up if we're not careful.
