Which was nice, but he always ordered them pretty rare, when I prefer them well done.

Well done is a travesty against meat kind, you should be ashamed of yourself. :P There is no flavor in well done meat, you cooked it all out. -Said as a cook in a restaurant.

I don't really care what you do though, and that's why we have like, freedom of choice and stuff. But seriously. Whenever I got well-done orders while I worked in the restaurant, it was always like, "This is from someone that actively hates burgers, and just wants me to ruin one, so all the burger's friends are like, 'Frank is getting well-done'd? WHY? WHY FRANK?! HE WAS SO YOUNG! NO ONE SHOULD ENDURE THIS TORMENT!'"

... I do medium well, which is like well done for people who don't like char. Less cooked than that, I just don't like the taste :-\

At least with beef. Chicken, cook that bugger 'till the outer edge could be used as charcoal for the next meal's cookin'. If I don't have to gnaw, I don't really want it.

My favor meat preparation is "jerky", though. Jerky is the best of things.

If I'm feeling sadistic I'll char the meat until it is nothng but carbon. Otherwise, rare for me.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

Why didn't they use % for percent? Would make random numbers and probability so much easier.

"%" is a unit. Programming languages don't work in units, they work in raw numbers. Like people said above, use 0.3 or 30/100 to specify ratios. Much more flexible than %, too since you can specify different bases.

I hope you guys arn't talking about ground meat hamburgers. If it's ground, cook it till the red is gone. Steaks can be had rare, but burgers no. Speaking as someone with a safe food handling certificate.

People have been eating raw ground beef for decades, and no mere disease risk is going to stop them.

I have to agree with kisame12794

The middle of a a slab of meat has very limited exposure to bacteria and is likely safe when barely cooked. Ground meat is nothing but surface area.

I just want to qualify this. In America, even dishwashers have to get a Food Handlers permit and take the course on how not to poison their customers. :P

I don't need a food handler's permit in South Carolina, though I did in Utah.

I think it's a state by state thing.

But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

NY and Michigan require ServSafe training for managers only.

Also, I got another call from an insurance agent who found my resume online. Look, if my cover letter says "will not do commission sales because of a bleak economic outlook," and you are offering a commission based sales job, I'm not taking it. WTF, dense ass people?

I spend there hours converting files into hex, converting hex into files, putting stuff into convertors, and what do I get?  50 WORTHLESS POINTS!!!I got more then that looking at a snippet of python for several seconds.    Also my phone wants to convert any word I want to spell into something completely different.  And my Mom is late picking me up, and my feet are starting to hurt.  And we have apparently dropped 100 places since yesterday in this competition.
