Well, these have lasted me ages. (they were also only $20, so I don't know why they suddenly went up, maybe theres a newer version of it?) I had to get a second pair since my brother ripped part of the ear pad, but thats entierly different from them breaking on their own.

I'm slightly wtf-ing at a review. This guy gave a 3/5 because he slept with them and they ended up in a tangled mess. Whut. But I'm looking into it. I'll try to find some of them, but finding them in a store may be really hard.

I got a pair of cheap Sony ones for a tenner, can't see them dying any time soon. Primarily because the cord's about a foot thick.

Thing is, I really can't buy them online because parents. I need to go to a store and buy them.

And now I just found out that the only computer store close to my house DOESNT SELL HEADPHONES. Uugh.

I personnally like Sennheiser. I bought headphones for ~50€ and they lasted 3 years and a half, and they had a really good sound (especially bass).
Everything above this range of price is in most cases a waste, since you'll probably listen to mp3

I have a sony wireless surround sound  dolby digital 5.1 channel headset. The sound IS good, but that isn't why I spent the money for them. I bought them to end the cycle of cheapo headsets that have a mic stop working every 5 minutes of skype. The plus side is that they work equally well on my PS3 as they do on my PC.

I use earbuds, Audio Technica's $140 ones. The quality is worth the price, but it has exactly 0 sound blocking. And the quality decays exponentially with sound. >.>
Best for quiet study, or reading.

Sony's E888 earphones are also nice. $80ish, good quality, and it's mellow enough to cover up less-than-optimal quality sound files, but they last only a year and a half before falling apart...

Ugh. Can't stand earbuds, especially for that price. Give me a cheap pair of headphones any day of the week.

I wish I bought low-end Bose headphones for $140. Probably much better sound cancelling, and bass. >.>

Two have been smoked. I'll just sit them somewhere for a couple months so the next time I drunkly want a cigarette I don't waste any money.

I agree with Skyrunner; give them away. Next time you plan on getting drunk, write yourself a note to not buy cigarettes!

I don't actually smoke regularly, so there's not a huge addiction problem or anything.
