I tried to use Tor once. It made every page take like 30 seconds to load.

Thats kinda the point. Tor is a massive proxy system, you aren't going to get perfect speeds out of a proxy.

Oh. Considering some people use it for everyday browsing, I thought it was capable of near-normal speeds. I found it hard to believe they'd destroy their internet experience for the sake of paranoia.

I once had a game of that where at least 50% of the rolls where FUCKING. SEVEN.
Oh, those dies are weighted from my experience. Some of the numbers are never rolled.
Never. As in, "HOLY FUCK DID I JUST GET A MATERIAL OUT OF THAT SQUARE HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?" never.
Rule of Catan : if you roll a 2, the next rolls until you play again are all 2. Same applies for 12. AND THIS WILL HAPPEN EXACTLY ONCE PER GAME.

Remembers me off the bonus catan pack that among others contained a d12.

I almost used it once, before realizing that it would destroy most of the tactics of the game.

I go to finalize the details on my Spanish project this morning. Guess what, the technician came around deleting "unnecessary files", which my video teacher told us would happen days later. So my entire project is gone, yeaaah...

That is why you make a backup of everything. I mean everything you will ever want to use on a computer ever again ever bar none everything ever.
I have Bay12 mafia games archived on a flash drive in case I ever want to read over them. I have a copy of my phones OS in case I ever need it. I even have schoolwork from years ago that I know I will never want to look at again, but it is there.

Hoard that data.

If your backup is on a flash drive you use frequently, back it up onto something else. Flash drives degrade pretty quickly in my experience, especially from heavy use.

I swear, if I could I would make a daily backup of my own brain and store all the data in a massive archive in space.

It'd sure make invincibility through cloning easier.

Google Drive is what I use to keep my data safe, despite all its wonkiness. EverNote's another good one I've heard about, but I've never used it. From what I remember, they're both backed up religiously, and you can hold all the data on your computer, too.

You can never have enough backups.

Space lab in space. That won't be my future home. I would rather have a space lab underwater.

Precisely the reason that some important files for one of my classes are in three places after the accidental deletion (which only by luck did not wipe these files) of a shared folder: the computer itself, the class Dropbox (which we now have instead of said deleted shared folder), and my USB drive.
