An unknown error making my cloud-like perlin noise look like this when it should be like this, combined with a compiler that's sooooo slooooow (even though there's no reason it should be. :/) has made me spend three hours doing nothing... ;-;

I'm guessing something's not clearing the register for the RNG? So it's using the same value over and over to produce gradients?

I...how the hell do either of those things get done via programming!?

Wow, it's a really good thing I got out when I did. Apparently, I sucked a lot harder at it than I thought I did. ;_;

Not really. If you were starting out, then its totally okay to not be able to do anything like that. Its a cumulative skills thing. Once you start to get the basics down, what you can create increases dramatically.

Actually I made this post just to show off.

My underling was supposed to give me a status report before she left today. I specifically told her to tell me to let me know if she completed her assigned work or if she did not complete her assigned work. Either way, I should have gotten an email, IM, phone call or a face to face conversation.

If she doesn't shape up and now, there is no way I can recommend for them to keep her after her contract expires a couple months from now, and even that much is looking kinda iffy. She is terribly slow, terribly buggy, terribly non communicative.

Only 1 of my the 3 underlings I have been given is even remotely acceptable. And he technically was working here in an systems admin capacity before I started and came back on after 2 years of programming for another company.

Tech Support within the company is like being the child of divorced parents. You end up talking to people so they don't have to talk to each other. You're effectively screening within the company :P

I was playing SS13 tonight, and I made the comment, "This is like the second Malf AI match I've played, of three matches."
And someone said, "Oh quit whining. If you don't like it, leave."
WTF? Why, internet, do you let me interact with stupid people, and yet give me no chance to stab them repeatedly in the stomach?

Finally got a reponse for my steam support question about Civ 4, wich I have given up on. It says that it came late because the increased volume of tickets, but the reponse seems like a standard automated message.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

My main problem here is that it came so late. If you're sending out an automated message, why does it come so late?
