Also, I give up at guessing. When dorf fortress names fail me I don't know where to turn.

Aarschot, the town that EVERYBODY in Flanders seems to have a friend/family member that has something to do with it.

Knowing Belgium, everyone will vote for themselves out of mistrust for anyone else, and some kind of weird direct democracy coalition will need to be formed from 11 million or so individuals.

For some reason my " key and the @ key have swapped functions when the shift key is pressed. Just those two keys.

yyyyyyyyyyyyyy
UK vs US keyboards. Maybe something's fiddled an option somewhere or something.

The keyboard shortcut for swapping keyboards is Shift + Alt IIRC. And computers are nice and come with an unremovable US keyboard layout option, so you can be royally screwed over when you accidentally hit the key combo. It can be disabled in the language bar options I think.

Started a Life Advice thread about a few days ago. I posted what I needed to and got some helpful advice. Someone posts something that isn't advice. Someone else comments. Thread derails. I tell them to stop discussing it in the thread while updating how the situation is going. Three posts later it continues, and grows. I lock thread before concluding the problem I posted about.

We someone tells you to stop discussing something in a Life Advice thread, don't continue! LA is not the board for sociological discussion when it's a tangent to what the OP is asking about!

Possible solution:
1. Lock thread [check]
2. Ask Toady to remove the guilty posts so they won't be re-starting the argument
3. Re-open thread
4. Give free ice-cream to all who can make three posts in a row without derailing

The Darkling Wolf has now joined my pantheon as the God of keys and all things amorphous, along with Duuvian the God of striving (and corn).

Not actually true. Once you set your new UK keyboard to default and restart the computer, you can get rid of the US one.

Apparently my allergy medicine decided to stop working today. If I spend more than ~5 minutes outside, my airway swells up to the point where I can barely breathe. FFFFF-

Ninjaedit: This is true, I bow down to thee.

* The Darkling Wolf had the key combo disabled, never noticed that Polish was the only keyboard left.

I have not yet heard a nerd complain about Big Bang Theory without at least an undertone of "nerdiness is my special awesome thing and nobody else is allowed to have it".

I watched the first two episodes and found it incredibly boring. The girl was offensively stereotypical too.

For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.
