Looks like I'm completely fucked in terms of surviving a nuclear apocalypse. I mean come on, I wasn't even aware anything important was in Minnesota.

The Twin Cities are listed as secondary targets, like most major metros in the U.S.  The primary target that's nearby is the Grand Forks AFB, and the fallout heads east with the winds and screws all Minnesotans like us over.

I sort of take comfort in the fact that if a strike does happen, I'll be so close to it I'll probably barely even be aware of it before I'm reduce to atoms.

At least one positive thing I can say about living in Nebraska. :D

There's just say there's more than grain in them there silos...

Again, bear in mind that these maps are based on 20-30 year old guesses as to what the Soviet strike patterns would have been. Informed guesses, but guesses nonetheless.

The logic was that eliminating US nuclear response capability would be the primary goal, then reduction of conventional warfighting ability and industrial production. It's altogether possible that the scenario changed dramatically if it was a response to a US first strike. In that case, hitting the now-empty silos would be rather a bit too late. They may have had a "FUCK THE WORLD" (ебут мире!) scenario wherein they just tried to hit all the population centers with a retributive strike in the case of a US first-strike. They may even have had it involve a stone level pulled by a dwarf.  :P

I was disappointed to find out Raleigh wasn't on the to-nuke list, but would instead be directly in the path of a very lethal radiation cloud. That has got to be the most boring way to die.

Hey cool, I'd be peachy keen, despite not living all that far from an air base.

Unless the yellow area is only "long painful death" and the rest are just shorter deaths.

They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Our landlord, while being a somewhat nice old man has a complete assdouche of a son.

So we're not staying in this house next year, but we did fucking pay 400 fucking euros for rent untill the end of this fucking month.

SO WHAT THE FUCK GIVES YOU THE FUCKING IDEA THAT YOU HAVE A FUCKING RIGHT OF BRINGING POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS HERE TO CHECK OUT THE FUCKING PLACE!?!?!?!??!

And this is just sickening, he has a spare key so he can do it wether we are here on not, something that happened today, good thing one of my roommates got home earlier.

And the assface greets us like there is nothing wrong with that. I swear I'm this close to leaving a giant steaming shit in the middle of the house when I leave, along with a note of everything that's wrong with the house in every possible place I can stick it in.

Keep in mind that almost the entire world would be plunged into total darkness for at least three years and the average global temperature would drop 8 degrees Celsius. So yes, yellow is for "long painful death". Hope you enjoyed The Road.

If you look at the FEMA state map, Raleigh burns in the 3rd wave. Oddly enough, Greensboro/High Point does not. So at least the post-Apocalypse will be nicely furnished.

See, in my state at least, Landlords must give 3 days notice before entering (except in emergency, like broken pipes, fire, etc.) or it's trespassing and you could call the police on him (if the police will actually do anything is another matter...)

I am not a lawyer, local laws vary, etc. etc.

So, the wreck that was my car before the bus happened to it has been recovered and valued by a salvager acting for my insurance company. The vehicle report manifest arrived today. I think a blind gorilla evaluated it - 50% of it is wrong and 25% of it details bits that don't exist. More hassle for me now to prevent my policy becoming invalid. Why did I pay these people again?

I have a really big problem. I am stuck in a place where I constantly feel like I have to argue with idiot conservatives (who are wrong about almost everything) and idiot liberals (who are wrong about gun control).

I'm not surprised to see Oak Ridge listed as a secondary target most places I go to look at maps, but I am surprised to see Memphis. I guess it's a major population center, I don't know.

And, of course, according to most places I'm going to, if they decide to go after tertiary, I've got a target just south and another just south/west of me.

No idea why Signal Mountain is a tertiary target though. I don't think it's even a population center target, it's a suburb of the target just south of me (Chattanooga.)
