Indeed, attempting to smite the infidel will only make him stronger.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

WTF:
I had to change my monitor cable from standard pc to hdmi so I could watch blue rays from my new blue ray drive.

When I do this, windows still reports the same 1920x1080 resolution, but no longer uses the entire screen to display. I have nearly an inch of black border on each side of the screen that I didn't before.

PreEdit: nevermind, I found the problem, an obscure video card driver option that I never even heard of had the wrong default value. Dunno if it was the catalyst ati drivers, or my monitor being weird.

Checking the mail, apparently I have a $700 medical bill from a January ER visit when I was vomiting worryingly frequently, that Blue Cross denied coverage on last month. Really hoping they'll accept installments, I can't pay that much right now. Also, hoping even more than that that I can appeal this shit.

EDIT: Also, the bus schedule appears to be a lying sack of shit, and as a consequence I'll have to wake up an hour early tomorrow to move my car so it doesn't get towed, and I got to waste half an hour waiting for a hypothetical bus that never materialized to boot. Also, the recording they have answering their phones is equally shitty. I AM CALLING BETWEEN THE HOURS OF NOON AND 5 PM, GOD DAMN IT.

They're obviously on a different timezone. Which one? Whichever one means they don't have to take your call.

That would actually be kinda' brilliant. Have it track time zone being called from, and automatically route it to a call center in a different timezone. A call center that is closed during those hours.

It's an entirely local bus system! It covers an area that is, in its entirety, less than 24 square miles and nowhere near a time zone boundary!

Outsourcing, brethren, outsourcing. Seems like a fair amount like to do that for calling stuff, for some reason. Yes, it makes no sense. Attribute their decision (that I'm totally making up!) to spite, sadism, or perverse-minded obfuscation.

Guys, posting links to other B12 drama is not allowed in this thread. Please edit your posts and belay that line of conversation. And using this thread to build up support for trolling people on other websites is something I'll report.

Have removed a post which might have been a bit close to the knuckle to be acceptable.

Thanks. I updated the OP to since it's something I've said before but isn't at the top. (Not like anyone reads the OPs of these things anyways, but if it's a rule it should be put somewhere.)

I have a suspicion that certain things are about to happen again. Who got asked out of the room because her girlfriend got pissed off by someone else again? Me that's who.
