maybe not a compaq then... oh! It was a Packard Bell! Not sure who made that one, but it was horrible. ran with a 486sx processor at a whopping 25MHz! Whatever it was it had horrible horrible dust issues since I was just a kid and I never cleaned it out. Learned how to program in QBasic on that computer... was awesome when I was learning :)

Digging's a lot like surgery, see -- you grab the sharp thing and then drive the sharp end of the sharp thing in as hard as you can and then stuff goes flying and then stuff falls out and then there's a big hole and you're done. I kinda wish there was more screaming, but rocks don't hurt so I guess it can't be helped.

I hate when you are consistent with your notation in physics, but because your notation doesn't quite match the accepted one you lose massive amounts of points for it.

"Oh you wrote sum(x) instead of sum(Fx)?" -2 points.
"Oh you wrote that differently for all 8 times you used that in this problem?" -16 points.

I lost almost 25% on that exam because of one stupid mistake that just showed up several times. >:( I got all the right answers, I just happened to write sum(x) instead of sum(Fx) for every single time that I needed to write it.

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

Sounds like a case of a grader who doesn't know what he is doing. You can probably argue it down to a single mistake.

If I was marking it, the first one would lose marks, but the others would be error carried forward...

Error carried forward = you get the marks as you cant penalize the same mistake constantly if the supporting work is fine.

It also means if the answer to your next question is dependant on your previous answer you get the marking as long as you got the working for that question correct, even if you actually numerically got the wrong answer.

I just spent two hours bashing my head against a report trying to figure out what was wrong....turns out I had mm/dd reversed. I want to rage at Crystal Reports so badly....but in truth it's not the program's fault, it was totally operator error.

People who can't take the couple of minutes to get dressed properly. I don't want to see the average person in their pajamas. The store is not the proper place to wear them. Srsly, who the hell leaves the house in slippers? RAAAAAGH!!!

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

I'm going to be firmly on the pajama wearing people's side.

Fuck your silly social clothing conventions. Comfort above all.

Quote from: Chesterton
For, in order that men should resist injustice, something more is necessary than that they should think injustice unpleasant. They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.
