The people I'm buying this house with contact me at 8:30 PM and basically say "We need to know your mom would be okay with cosigning this lease. Call her now."

Well she works third shift so that'd be kind of difficult! And cosigning a lease puts her credit at risk so this is sort of one of those decisions you should have told me about several days ago! Ha, not like I can expect them to tell me anything until they need something from me. I'm definitely going to live with other people after next year.

This is a rare RAEG/Happy hybrid.

My cat has been missing for two days.

He's a wanderer, usually spends whole nights outside. This isn't the first time he's gone missing for several days either.

Except LAST time, he was gone three days then magically appeared in the basement, half-dead and suffering from some kind of sickness.

So we were expecting the worst. Cats will do as cats will do and that's the price of owning cats you let out.

On a whim, someone walked the edge of the yard and called him, something I admit I thought was pretty futile.

An lo, a moan was heard from the trees in our neighbor's yard.

I vault the fence and wade into some pine trees to find my little fat bastard buddy alive and terrified, caught in a possum trap.

He's been "missing" since Sunday night.

I storm up to the neighbor's house, demanding to know why my fucking cat was starving (and looks like he has an infection around his eye from likely mashing his face against the cage to get out) in a trap in his back yard.

Turns out it's a 75-year-old man. He's mortified, of course, and claims he'd checked the trap every day since he put it out "three or four days ago, except for yesterday." Which by math I wasn't doing at the time, means he never fucking checked it at all. Did he plan to let the possums starve to death in the trap?

Well, sir, maybe now you realize that baiting a trap and not checking it makes you an asshole, and possibly guilty of cat slaughter and animal cruelty.

I pointed out too, politely, that had he found my cat dead and turned it in to Animal Control, they would have wanded the chip in his neck and found out he'd just killed his neighbor's cat through negligence.

He was pretty nice though and accommodating (I told him to leave his traps out for a few days since my fat bastard cat isn't going anywhere for a while and to check his goddamn traps on a daily basis in the morning.) If it happens again (which if he keeps baiting it with goddamn sardines, it will. Hopefully with someone else's cat) I told him we're going to call animal control to sort this mess out.

So GGGGRRRRRR at old people using things they don't understand and YAY that my cat came back, again. Now if he could only stop letting his gigantic belly lead him into trouble.

And for the record Dinkin is at 6/9 lives. That we know about, at any rate.

And that, right there is why I do my best to never let my cat out.  Doesn't always work, of course.  Then I get to run around in half a suit at Freezing O'Clock until he stops to fight and I can grab him (like I did last week, and the week before that, and just 2 days ago.  I thought neutering was supposed to cut down on this kind of thing?).

Lunatic little critters cats are (but so cute!).

Thankfully I don't live on a postage stamp lot so my cat can roam about as much as he wants. There are quite a number of dangers though that I have to keep a look out for: coyotes, possum, raccoons, snakes, huge spiders, hawks, other cats big and small, and the dreaded squirrels. As long as he sticks close to the house he generally doesn't have to deal with too many of the list at once. He roams, however, and finds trouble wherever it is at. He has come home with snakebites, possum bites, scratches, large gashes, stuff like that. I think he is slightly stupid considering he'll gladly go right back outside as soon as we fix him up and starts immediately looking for another fight.

Digging's a lot like surgery, see -- you grab the sharp thing and then drive the sharp end of the sharp thing in as hard as you can and then stuff goes flying and then stuff falls out and then there's a big hole and you're done. I kinda wish there was more screaming, but rocks don't hurt so I guess it can't be helped.

Minor rage: but losing my unlocks in ToME annoyed me.

(yes, I know I can recover them by editing a file if that is my wish. That's not the point. For that matter, it's not that hard to recover them from in-game, either. I popped in an alchemist and I'm burning my way through everything in my way.)

Doing VOIP phones or what? We have digital phone through the cable company, so if that breaks, phone calls are the least of our problems.

I had that issue 'round 8 months back.

Rather than our phone die, our phones, fax, and internet all stopped working for nearly a week straight.

...Most unprofitable week in the history of the company. Damn Verizon couldn't make up their minds and fix it after being wonky for 6 months. Turns out some idiot techs installed faulty parts or some such, so they had to dig up the street and screw with everything for two weeks straight to fix whatever it is that ultimately broke and screwed the entire block's connections.

Back on topic.

Working at the office today... 7 hours later, 1 client and 3 phone calls all bloody day.

Not sure whether to laugh, cry, or take a nap.

I'd go with the nap.

Not happening, considering my desk is at the front of the office and by the huge double-windows that face the busy street. <_< I'm the "people's person" of the office, and make most of the sales, hence I need to be visible.

*grumble grumble*

And now my other co-worker's dumbass son just busted his ass and cracked his head open, so she's crying and just called a taxi to leave early.

So, now I'm about to be alone in my office.

FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUU-

Knowing my luck, 10+ clients will show up last-minute just before I close up.

Yes. Her son busted his ass, so my female co-worker left crying. Grammar cues, ho!

You wouldn't refer back to a male friend's vehicle as a male after referencing it, you'd return to referencing the owner of said vehicle, which is evident by the choice in gender/lack thereof. :P

Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I'm trying to make Arkham City run on my laptop. By all accounts, it should work fine with mid to low graphics settings.

LOLNOPE. Crashes before the main part of the game starts.

I shall be over here, striking my head against the wall repeatedly before I really lose my temper and start bashing my computer against the wall repeatedly.
