I'll give Beth the benefit of the doubt. Shit, just look at DF. When you're planting shit in a giant world and it works according to a generalized system....exceptions happen. I'm not excusing all their bugs, but some of them I will, just as I would any other dev with a reasonably complex/huge game.

Now, their content framework and mechanics......those are deliberate choices I would like to violently shake someone at Bethesda over.

See, I was willing to do that for Oblivion. But at this point, if the exact same problems are still coming up, 2(3?) major releases later (all effectively the same game with different wallpaper and carpeting, to boot), it bugs me.

I experienced so many fewer bugs in Skyrim than Oblivion. I remember Oblivion crashing on a regular basis, but with Skyrim it was intermittent if ever. I also ran into way fewer bugged quests in Oblivion. Anecdotal and all that, but still, I felt like Skyrim is most solid, technically-speaking, game they've ever put out by a good margin.

On the flip-side,to it's also the least interesting game in terms of mechanics.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

It doesn't matter if Oblivion or Skyrim was more stable because Morrowind will always be better.

All hail Morrowind, Game Of The Year 0-13,750,000,000.

I will admit that the long range sniping was the most enjoyable part of the game for me. It was just so satisfying to hit a really difficult shot and see the body tumble off of something high up in the air.

S'true that it crashed a lot less often than Oblivion, but the non-gamebreaking issues were still there in full force, some old, and some new. The terrain-clipping in particular seems to have been a constant from Oblivion through FO3, FO:NV, and straight into Skyrim. Not to say that the games weren't fun, or that they didn't have good points, but at times it seemed as if Bethesda was at times ignoring the things that made the games interesting (for me, admittedly) in favor of making it more grindy and railroady.

Spoiler: somewhat offtopic rant (click to show/hide)

Well, with the AI and physics bugs killing NPC's so often (loyalty cascades, and NPC's walking off cliffs) maybe it's not so mch to stop the player from klling them, and to keep them from dying offscreen, blocking the main quest without giving the player a chance.

That's certainly the most valid reason, but it doesn't explain why they decided to just slap invincibility on all quest-related NPCs instead of working on the issues that lead to uncontrollable NPC death, or even adding an option to turn it off, unless [see above].
