Well, toilets are loudish. Loud things sometimes wake up people, so toilets can cause wakeups.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Particularly when someone's headboard is on the other side of the wall.

My headboard is against a wall that has a bunch of pluming in it, when ever someone flushes a toilet or runs a sink or shower, it's louder in my room than it is in that bathroom for some reason.

My brother's home from college this week. We engaged in some mutual ignorant arguing. I raged a bit.
We we're arguing if waking dreams are always scary or not. lol
Not like I know very much about them, and neither does my brother.
I guess we were just having a silly emotionally invested conversation.

Ah, sibling bonding.
Perhaps it will help when the zombie apocolypse rolls around...

Has flushing toilets become socially unacceptable in the new decade or what?

It would seem that way, at least amongst the male relatives I live with at the moment.

My little sister thinks she'll wake everyone in the house if she flushes the toilet in the middle of the night.
Which makes me glad my dad usually gets up before I do. Piss (even more) stinks if it has been in the toilet for hours.
I know for a fact that peeing in the actual bowl is a unacceptable, it's far more acceptable to pee on the floor, the seat, on the rim, on the walls...

Why else would there be drains on the floor?  :P

Flushing public toilets in the middle of the day wakes people up?

Humans keep confusing me more and more.

If you're tired enough to fall asleep in a public bathroom, thats your problem. At least go home first so you know whats been where you're sitting.

Funny thing...

My local ATM has instructions on what to do if it eats your card.

It's the type where you push the card in and then pull it out. it's literally incapable of eating it.

Maybe they're alluding to when the ATM becomes sentient and tries to eat your hand.
