I think journos aren't that far behind lawyers these days, in terms of how the public sees them. Which is BS. Despite all the bad journos out there, the good ones more than make up for it.

Especially given that these were war correspondants. And not the "I'm going to sit in this hotel room and write about hearing explosions" kind. Shit, Marie Colvin lost her damn eye covering the Tamil Tigers insurgency. Meanwhile, the worthless fat fucks who snark about her death sit on their asses and.....GAAAAAHHHHHHH....just so much goddamn rage.

I need to go listen to Tool's Aenema and get some catharsis out.

I'm missing my favorite class in order to try to drop this other class... and I have to spend the rest of today working my ass off.

I'm so tired.  I haven't even really had the time to sit down and get all the things set up I need to for when I change my password in a day or two.  What a mess.  So this is what being an adult is like.

I fucking hate the overlap between /r/atheism and /r/politics, I want to discuss policy without my religion being constantly attacked because of the ignorant and bigoted people that claim to follow it.

Hear, hear.

Being an adult is no fun. Which is why I've avoided becoming one my whole life.

Playing Die2Nite, someone closed the gates of the town 3 hours before the zombie attack was scheduled :/

I'm glad I was planning on camping anyway, else I'd be with the 13 people who died.

Well, I turned in the paperwork.  Now all I can do is hope.  And clean my room up or something, because shit, this place is a pigsty.

I'm actually happier than I've been in a long time.  I haven't felt this... content since I was a freshman.  But still, bwah!  Fucking bureaucracy!  Je crache sur bureaucracy!

Zombies schedule their attacks? That's awfully considerate of them.

It looks like I'm going to be stuck standing around until the next attack kills me and I can go join a town that isn't shit.

You can check the American Election Megathread if you feel like finding more rage info on Santorum. Note: The fellow you're talking about isn't just "a politician," he's one of the people one of our major political parties are considering for a presidential nominee.

You don't have to worry much about him getting elected president, though. It's... very unlikely to happen.

You are probably referring to Santorum, and it is very unlikely that he'll be elected.

But he is not the only politician like that (though he is perhaps the most extreme), and there is a significant presence of christian fundamentalism in America.  I personally interact with a few people daily that are every bit as extreme as him, have known dozens more, and have dozens of friends who struggle with families that are entirely fundamentalist.  Oh yeah... I guess I should even include a few of my in-laws.

The best part is he rejects Global Warming while at the same time saying democrats are "anti-science." It's like denying the holocaust happened while calling Jews "anti-semites."
