On work.

yea.

Big Boss out of town. Architect busy. Team Lead busy. No one told me the time line I have for this work. I don't have of the process info I need. I don't have a time line. And today I find out, 3rd hand, that it is supposed to be out the door in less than 2 weeks. For full design work, implementation, testing and feedback. Add to that that I have been sick, queasy stomach, diarrhea, terrible cough, achy eyes.

yea.

My school newspaper decided to forgo all spell-checking. We ended up with statement like "poll of a 12 students," "bacasue," and "u."

That was all found in a ten-second skim. I shudder to think of what else is wrong in there. Come on, people, you've been learning how to use the English language for the past nine or so years of schooling! Where did it all go?

What the fuck for? How can you have any credibility as a newspaper if you can't even spell properly on it.

becasue (I can't even intentionally mistype that!) u ned be textn lol!

It's not a very dedicated group we have there (I think it's a class, and probably one everybody sleeps through), so I can only suspect that it was written up a day or two before being distributed and nobody bothered to check for quality.

Also, the newspaper is hell-bent on stating that we need to cut expenses and that people think the band program needs to be the first to go. I cannot fathom how much money is dumped on the hundred different sports we have and new pom/dance uniforms we seem to get twice a quarter, but take an activity that actually takes intellect or skill and they want it axed because the instruments are too shiny.

I'm so glad I'm graduating in a few months.

Sounds like the newspaper program should be the first to go. Just sayin.  ???

Been there, done that.  My senior year in high school was like this.  Our academic team had a yearly budget of like $100.  That was supposed to buy gas to go to matches, food for when we hosted matches and shirts for all of the members.  Yeah, I bet you know how far that actually went.  Meanwhile, we get an entire new gym built.

I understand that funds are probably allocated by the district or something and not the school itself, but come on.

Same here. They cut funds for the music, drama and art departments at my school, in the same year that added a whole extension to the gym-side of the building, which houses a world-class weight room with over 15 machines.

Go Spartans. They may all be dumb as rocks but at least they can throw a football, right? I guess that's what I get for living in the home of the Cornhuskers, everyone thinks they're the fucking university and so they spend every dime they have on school athletics, like the only prospects their kids have are football scholarships.

My school was still using textbooks from the 60s in several classes, had visible asbestos hanging from the ceilings in some rooms, a horrible cockroach problem, and horribly incompetent teachers for their computer classes... but in the four years that I was there, they re-paved the track twice, completely dug up the entire football field just to replace the soil, renovated the gymnasium, and built a new set of tennis courts.  It also had a graduation rate just over 60%.  I'm so glad I got out of there before my last two years of high school, or I don't know where I'd be.  The education I was getting there was worthless.

DF General Discussion; A week ago the board was full of threads along the lines: "Release the new version now, we can handle the bugs!"

Now, basically the board is "Make the bugs go awayyyyy!!"

I mean, what the hell.

Just means they have the maturity level of my 5-year old.

Just before bed:
"I want a cartoon!"
"Okay, but that means no book tonight. You understand that right?"
"Yeah, that's okay. Cartoon! Cartoon!"

Ten minutes later:
"I want a book!"
"No. Go the fuck to sleep."
