If there were god(s) wouldn't they be insane vain? Making a universe, enriching it with sentient life, then making themselves apparent for the sole reason that we should worship them?
Like a child setting up a stuffed toy parade in their own honer for nothing in particular.

That would be a vain reason to create a universe, however a extremely unlikely one IMHO.
It could have been created to simply observe what would happen (eg. hyper advanced simulation).
It could be part of a Celestial power struggle or a giant game to amuse the gods.
Or it could have simply been created by accident (eg. a fair amount of the human creation stories).

Most importantly creating sentient life (assuming you don't believe that humans are fundamentally special) is probably just emergent from the system, especially since it would take billions of years for any life to even get started and billions more for sentient life, and even then it would be near impossible to find (unless the god/gods was/were omniscient).

Yeah, I was vaguely ruminating on a postive/negative dichotomy thing for a collage; aesthetics would have probably had the mona lisa contrasted with guro of some sort (Probably soft stuff, say from Franken Fran.). I'm now trying to remember what the sixth major area is/could be; I remembered the study of knowledge (and am currently figuratively beating myself across the head and shoulders for forgetting the technical name for it) and logic, but can't recall the last bit.

Incidentally, I now pity any introductory aesthetic classes I may or may not end up teaching. I think Zrk gave me a class project: "Using the aesthetic system proposed by one of the philosophers studied this semester as a base, create a media expression of the major areas of philosophy."

Doctors, I know it is an effective drug for what it's used for, but the fact that lorazepam is on shortage now does not mean you need to prescribe it for every conceivably applicable case. In fact, it means exactly the opposite. At the rate we were going before the shortage was announced, we probably would've gotten through to near the end of the month. At the rate we're going now, we'll be lucky to make it halfway through before we run out. And, because it's in short supply, all we have left are the 1 mL vials that nobody ever wants to use, because each dose is 25 mL. Basically working a shift in the biosafety hood = being one poor bastard, for the rest of the month.
